Crema's Take

Tuckshop brings an unpretentious Australian sensibility to a tiny but mighty corner of New York, where expertly pulled espresso meets inventive toasties like a standout miso mushroom that locals are already raving about. The intimate space demands patience—seating is genuinely limited—but rewards it with genuinely friendly staff and a neighborhood vibe that feels less like a caffeine pit stop and more like catching up with someone who knows exactly how you take your coffee.

There are not that many seats and if there is a single person sitting on the booth, it means some seats are there but not really available. Staff are friendly and coffee is really nice. Apparently the cookies and sandwiches are great. No toilets here. Cool vibe, would return.

It’s a good toast to try once. We had the tuna melt and the miso mushroom and the best is the second one. Felt like the tuna had way too much salt for my liking.

Best toasties in NYC! Great quality ingredients and favor combos - loved the Mont Blanc coffee too. Wonderful ambiance and service, great spot for the neighborhood.

'Tuck a look at this place! Just opened, the Tuckshop offers a distinct Aussie bent on the sandwich and coffee oeuvre. The place is small but in a cozy way. The staff is super friendly and has some great suggestions and explanations for the antipodean fare. The sandwichs are both crispy and gooey, a feat not easily achieved and the coffee is great. There's a lot of competition in the West Village for cozy, tasty places, but this one scores big with large sandwiches and well presented coffee/tea/matcha. The menu is limited to toasted sandwiches and caffeine inspired drinks, but isn't that all you want sometimes? - and hey, where else can you get a hot, cheesy, Vegemite sammy? The vibe is great and all the customers and workers seemed to want to be there. Everyone was chatty and friendly. The only drawback is it's quietly positioned mid-block on the far side of west 11th street. You could miss it if you weren't looking for it, but if you know... You Know!
