Crema's Take
“Temple Coffee Roasters is a Sacramento institution that's earned its devoted following through meticulously crafted espresso drinks and creative seasonal offerings like their legendary orange spiced mocha, paired with genuinely excellent pastries that keep people coming back. The shop has a welcoming, community-focused vibe where regulars feel at home and even laptop warriors are made to feel welcome, though it's popular enough that you might need to grab a seat at the bar during peak hours. What really sets Temple apart is the staff's professionalism and genuine warmth—this is clearly a place where the team cares about getting your coffee just right and making you feel like part of the neighborhood.”

My first time to Temple so I was excited to meet a friend there. There were no tables inside available. All tables were taken mostly by people with laptops that were settled in for the long haul. I had to get my coffee to go. I went out on the patio to sit and left soon there after as there was a person chain smoking out there. Guess she and Temple's owner are unaware of the Sacramento law that states smokers have to be 20ft from any building entrance. I called my friend to meet me at Starbucks instead. I won't be returning to Temple.
Temple is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Sacramento. The orange spiced mocha is to die for and honestly my only gripe is that it is not offered year round because it's truly incredible. The staff are knowledgeable baristas that actually know coffee and it's a locally owned shop which in days day in age is super important. Can be a bit pricey but if you want quality coffee and not a sugary mess then it's absolutely worth it. Highly recommend 10/10
Whenever I’m in Sac, I always make sure to swing by this place for coffee and a chat. Their pastries are amazing and so tasty! The coffee, from Americanos to lattes, is fantastic, and you absolutely have to try their seasonal drinks! It can get a bit noisy inside, so I usually sit outside, which is just as cozy as inside!
This place has some great coffee and great people watching. I once witnessed a guy put out some serious efforts in picking up this woman and his effort proved successful. Kudos to her too for the way she subtly tested how creepy he could have been. I hope those two found healthy love in this crazy toxic world.
Temple has truly become one of my favorite places — I’ve spent countless hours here and even got to know many of the regulars. What stands out right away is the professionalism of the entire team, the incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere, and of course, the delicious coffee. They’ve never let me down, not even once. I also really appreciate how accommodating they are — if you’re like me and can’t drink coffee after noon (because good luck falling asleep!), they’re always happy to offer great alternatives. This place feels like a second home.
