Crema's Take

Tucked away in Alpine, this neighborhood bakery has earned passionate devotion for sourdough biscuits that locals describe as life-changing—fluffy, buttery perfection that draws comparisons to the best bakeries in major cities. Beyond the standout pastries and breakfast sandwiches, what keeps people coming back is the unhurried, welcoming atmosphere and the owner's genuine kindness, creating the kind of wholesome, homemade vibe that feels increasingly rare. It's the ideal spot to linger over excellent coffee and a flaky pastry while experiencing the kind of care and quality that makes a place feel like a local treasure.

Best biscuits I’ve ever had!!! I’m from the Midwest, have lived all over the country and currently live in the foodie capital of Texas - Austin. I love biscuits, and when done right, they knock your socks off! I left sock-less! 🚫🧦 The biscuits Cherry (biscuit maker) baked up were savory, flavorful, crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Best of all, it’s amazing texture held the sandwich just right! It didn’t fall apart until you got it in your mouth. Y’all, I’m blown away. Cherry’s biscuits are **chefs kiss**!!! 🤌🏻🤌🏻 I will be dreaming of these biscuits for a lifetime! 🤤

When I tell you that this was probably the best sourdough biscuit I have ever had IN MY LIFE. I am NOT being dramatic. It was incredibly fluffy and delicious, and I cannot believe we only got one on a whim on our way out of town. I wish we got 20. Rearrange your entire travel plans to be able to stop here. Phone couldn't even eat first because we were so excited. The sweet college girl who helped me out was also an angel!

If you are in the area, you must stop. The shop owner was so kind and patient and friendly. The waffle plate was Ah-mazing. So were the breakfast sandwiches and warm cinnamon rolls- all made with sour dough base. Grabbed some fresh local beef while there as well. Thank you Gabby!

Great baked goods and coffee! Easy to find and parking was also super easy. We had fruit and cream cheese croissants and they were perfect--just the right amounts of fruit and not too sweet. My friend also had a yummy chocolate chip scone. The service and atmosphere were great, too.

I’ve lived in big cities with high end bakeries but this bakery gives a very homemade, wholesome vibe that you can’t get in other places. Kind customer service and a lovely slow pace in this small town. The type of place that makes you reflect and enjoy your food with the ones you love. Really great sourdough breakfast sandwich and a cinnamon roll that wasn’t too sweet and crispy. Happy we stopped by!
