Roots Brew Shop
600 7th St NW, Grand Rapids, MI
Crema's Take
“Roots Brew Shop is a genuinely people-first spot where the staff remembers your name and actually wants to know how your day is going—the kind of place that feels more like visiting friends than grabbing coffee. The atmosphere strikes that rare balance of being busy and bustling yet somehow quiet and peaceful, making it equally perfect for deep work, meaningful conversations, or just soaking in the welcoming, unpretentious vibe that keeps customers calling it a favorite.”

Super awesome service and an amazing atmosphere. Coffee was a little on the sour side for my taste but it was far from bad. Highly recommend, get a vegan cookie!
This is business that is much more than just another coffee spot. The people are very friendly; they will ask your name (and not just to put it on your order). ask how your day is going and build a relationship with regulars (of which I am one). They care about the community, helping people in need, and offering support to other small businesses. In addition they make great coffee, provide a meeting place for people in the community, and offer light food options. People are welcome there and seemingly happy to be there.
Stopped in on Saturday 5/3 at 2:00. I ordered 2 cappuccinos to go. They were terrible. They just tasted like cups of hot milk. There wasn’t any expresso taste at all ! We were so disappointed for $10 plus tip. Barista needs re-training. Ferris Nut is 100% better !!
Quiet and peaceful despite being busy. Honestly, it's one of my favorite coffee shops I've ever been to. Unapologetically Christian, but you don't feel like you're walking into a church. Just a fantastic, friendly, relaxing spot with great coffee, delicious sandwiches, and really friendly employees who's smile and conversation will make anyone's day better! Highly recommend
New find…nice coffee shop with lots of space, but was crowded when I was there. Lucky I found one place left to sit. Several groups came in and left because there was no place to sit. Looks like it’s very popular place, mostly college students studying. I was there around noon. Had their americano and it was good. They have some food offerings and bagels. Another coffee shop nearby so could pick one or the other if busy. Place is clean but I did not see any masks or anyone wiping down tables, so if that’s a problem…Also , they have a printer available.
