Crema's Take

Black Cup is a spacious, espresso-focused haven in Anchorage where thoughtfully-pulled shots and excellent pour overs justify the loyal following that keeps regulars returning year after year. The airy layout and generous table spacing make it genuinely conducive to both focused work sessions and unhurried conversations, while the confident, rich lattes and delicious pastries give you reason to linger longer than you planned. There's a quiet confidence here—nothing flashy, just reliably excellent coffee and a welcoming environment that locals clearly trust.

I've been coming here for years. My February visit was just as I've come to expect, good food and drinks. Clean facility. Friendly staff. The tables are spaced out decent. Seating can be a challenge. We got the last available table.

This is a great and quite big coffee place. The coffee and their food is amazing. Nice environment to be with friend or casual study. Their food selection is limited but I guess that's also good. They also have some art displayed. Must recommend!!

After sipping my Steam Dot latte, I immediately went here to try their latte because I was disappointed. Glad I went because it was richer, tastier, and stronger than Steam Dot's. I came back twice and also bought beans, which came with a free 12-oz brew that day.

I came here one morning for breakfast. It's very spacious and probably the best coffee shop environment I've seen in Anchorage to plug in/work. I also love that open earlier than most. They had a great variety in the pastry case.. scones, muffins, breads, etc. all looked good enough to make me indecisive. They also have pre-made hot breakfast options, ready to heat up. The blueberry scone I had was solid -- was moist and had good textures. I'd rate it 7 out of 10. The veggie burrito was also pretty good and satisfying. The the salsa it came with was excellent and definitely elevated the burrito. The plain latte I had was just okay. It was strong but 6/10 quality for me. I didn't pay much attention to see if they had seasonal/specialty drinks; I just saw the essentials. Overall, it's a good shop, and I'm sure I'll be back sometime.

Delicious boutique coffee shop with excellent pour overs. The pastries are also delicious, and staff are very helpful. I'd definitely recommend the coffee.
