Crema's Take

Bistro at the Pier offers a convenient oceanside grab-and-go spot with solid espresso drinks and specialty options, perfect for fueling a pier walk with your coffee in hand. While the location and casual vibe have their charm, recent reviews suggest inconsistencies in execution—from portion sizes to service quality—that have left regulars disappointed after what sounds like better days.

I'm not even sure how to say this without sounding ... Judgemental. But the man and woman serving this morning had dirty hands and fingernails, missing teeth, and asked what our order was at least 7 times. Clearly both of them were either currently battling addiction or less than 48 hours sober. They were polite but I was concerned about the sanitation with the hands. I believe this bistro is run by the church with all the ads for church stuff on the menu, so props to them for giving people a chance, but they really need to make sure they are actually able to handle the job. It sounds easy but it wasn't for them.

Been coming here for years, unfortunately this year has been our worst experience by far. They have reduced the amount of acai base in their bowls significantly. We tried it twice to see if the first day was just a fluke, but they served a ridiculously small amount of acai both times. Turned into a liquid soup mess instantly. We will not be returning.

20 ounce coffee that you order is not 20 ounces the cop you got is clearly smaller than the 20 ounce cup on display. Plus I’ve been a restaurant owner and I know what 20 ounces when I see it. This place does that annoying thing where it asks for a predetermined tip before you can sign the creeping tipping trend. Just needs to stop employers need to pay their employees more plus the person that I dealt with I believe was the owner and as the owner of the restaurant, I would never have accepted a tip from a customer. Here’s a picture of my supposed 20 ounce drink next to my 12 ounce can of soda.

Great location ! The coffee was good! But... The Bistro was arrogant and rude. Bluntly asked for a tip when paying with my credit. I get it that the app auto ask for it. But i shouldn't feel forced. Tip is something that should be earned when customer feel happy with a service..... Then I sat on a chair to enjoy the ocean view and to drink my coffee, he turned on his audio book or may be it was a radio. It was so loud that totally was distracting me. I gently asked him to lower it down with a hand motion but he turned it higher. I thought he didn't understand. So I asked again . He said: "I know, I am listening to it" . Seriously.... I can only wish for a well deserved life for this guy. That is so sad. After all we are all from the same source and we're here in this world to help not to hurt each other.

I come here about 2-3 days a week for a caramel macchiato. It’s a great place to grab a coffee for walking the pier or even a hot chocolate later in the evening. Today I had the pleasure of ordering with Mike and after a small communication hiccup, he remade our order to perfection!
