Crema's Take

Nestled in a converted mill surrounded by independent bookstores and record shops, The Lady Killigrew Cafe offers a genuinely special retreat where you can sip excellent cold brew on a deck overlooking the stream while the creative energy of the whole Book Mill community hums around you. Their eclectic sandwiches (the curry chicken is a standout) and thoughtful specialty drinks pair perfectly with the unhurried, convivial atmosphere that keeps locals coming back for Sunday afternoons and chance discoveries alike.

I love this place, but it isn’t as good as it used to be. I’ve always loved the curry chicken sandwich and somehow it seemed more like there was ground chicken in there than actual chicken pieces. It’s still an amazing spot. So beautiful to look out the window. This was a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty loud in there, but I could still talk. The vegan friend I was with was very happy with her sandwich.

Small yet mighty! Set in the corner of a book store in an old mill, this café serves delicious, eclectic food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were there on a Sunday afternoon in Fall, and it was packed with people of all ages. The food and coffee were delicious. Come with a friend, or bring your laptop and just vibe.

Had a good iced coffee on the deck over the stream\river. Lots of others enjoying the food. Walked the trail from the parking lot to the stream and watched tiny critters swarm-swimming in the stream. Bugs or tiny fish, hard to tell even in a foto, cool tho.

To sit in the courtyard between Turn It Up Records and the Book Mill, eating their sandwich and salad, taking in the refreshingly pleasant if not jovial vibe of everyone around, was sublime. The iced tea was a bit too strong and I wish they had lemon, but oh well. Next time I’ll try the cold brew.

Found this place close by to a concert we were going to at Montague Retreat Center. Unfamiliar and in the middle of nowhere where, The Lady Killigrew Cafe was a blessing! Timing was great as they close their kitchen at 8pm so we got there around 7:40 with just enough time to grab a bite. Cute and quaint, right near the flowing waters - I wish I got to see this place in the sunlight! The tunes here are great, I was dancing immediately. The staff here is sweet and the space itself is so fascinating! Has a cute charm throughout all the way down to the bookshop. I ordered the Number 1 sandwich. It was flavorful and just right to warm up my stomach. The salad was fresh and unique! Tasty stuff that had me perfectly satisfied.
