Caffe Siena
75 Prospector Rd, Aspen, CO
Crema's Take
“Nestled within the Ritz-Carlton at Highlands Village, this café offers a convenient ski-day retreat with reliably well-prepared espresso drinks and a solid selection of fresh pastries and grab-and-go sandwiches. The setting makes it ideal for a quick caffeine boost between runs or a leisurely sit-down break, with straightforward pricing that won't shock your wallet after a day on the slopes. However, multiple recent reviews raise serious concerns about inconsistent service and discriminatory treatment of customers based on race, which significantly undermines what could otherwise be a pleasant mountain café experience.”

Extremely unpleasant experience. The barista showed blatantly racist behavior, ignoring customers of color in line while serving white customers who arrived later. When I was finally served, the coffee was slammed on the counter in a hostile way. This kind of discriminatory and disrespectful treatment should never happen in a place of business, especially in a beautiful ski resort that should be welcoming to everyone.
The food and pricing are reasonable, but the service was disappointing. The female barista was attentive and friendly to white customers, but when I asked a simple question, I received minimal attention. She placed lids on drinks for everyone ahead of me, yet I had to ask where mine was. My friend had the exact same experience, with the barista failing to even make eye contact or engage in any conversation. This level of service is unacceptable and, frankly, racism.
This is a great little coffee and snack shop located within the Ritz-Carlton at Highlands Village. If you're looking for a quick and casual spot before or after a day of skiing to grab a bite, Caffe Siena is your best option in Aspen Highlands. We loved our breakfast sandwiches!
We appreciate the ready-made grab-and-go sandwiches. We got their egg and sausage sandwich, they also had ham and egg croissants. We also got a blueberry muffin which was excellent and cheese and strawberry croissant. There were lots of other items to grab and Go including yogurt, fruit cups, other cold sandwiches as well as warm pre-made hamburgers. Lots of other grab-and-go items including trail mix, granola bars and drinks.
The embedded cafe in the ski resort. Perfectly prepared coffee here gives you a super relaxing break while skiing. Really great coffee and bakery here.
