Blueys Santa Monica
1814 Berkeley St, Santa Monica, CA
Crema's Take
“This indie Santa Monica spot strikes that rare balance of being both a serious coffee destination and an excellent all-day brunch spot that won't drain your wallet—a genuine feat in a neighborhood known for inflated prices. Reviewers rave about the consistently smooth matcha, thoughtful alternative milk options, and standout breakfast items like their elevated fried egg sandwich with perfectly placed Parmesan, all served in a cool, unhurried atmosphere that manages to feel laid-back even when packed on weekends. The early weekend hours and slightly tucked-away location off Olympic make it feel like a genuine neighborhood discovery rather than another tourist trap.”
What to expect
Strong matcha and tea selection. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly. Wifi.

This place has such a cool vibe. It was busy when we arrived but didn’t feel chaotic or rushed. I liked the alternative milk options and that they had fun matchas! Very smooth matcha, no grittiness to it or bitter notes, overall a great drink.
Bluey’s is consistent. Good food and energy. Busy on the weekend but usually you can find seating. The breakfast is bomb. Fried egg sammie is classic and honestly the Parmesan elevates it.
Lovely, slightly hidden brunch and breakfast place right off Olympic in Santa Monica. Came here since it opens early also on weekends and was positively surprised by the food. Burger (maybe a bit too well done), chocolate croissant, avocado toast all were great. The Squash…
