Corner Coffee

Crema's Take

Tucked inside the historic Drayton Hotel, Corner Coffee wraps you in boho-chic charm while crafting thoughtful specialty drinks, from iced cold brew to creamy matcha lattes prepared by genuinely knowledgeable baristas. It's the kind of place where you'll linger over a pastry and light breakfast, swap local tips with friendly staff, and actually want to settle in for a while rather than rush out into Savannah's heat.

A very good cup of iced joe. Especially, on this warm afternoon walk about.

Corner Coffee, tucked inside the Drayton Hotel, initially draws you in with its inviting, boho-chic ambiance, a welcome respite from the bustling Savannah streets. However, this charming atmosphere, largely a spillover from the hotel itself, unfortunately, doesn't compensate for the disappointing coffee. My experience began with a simple request: a wet cappuccino. Despite confirming they offered them, the barista delivered a burnt, dry cappuccino that tasted remarkably similar to what I'd expect from an automated hotel Nespresso machine. The overwhelming flavor of char masked any potential coffee notes. Our second order, an iced latte, fared no better. It was essentially a glass of milk with a faint, also burnt, coffee essence. Both drinks lacked the quality and care one would hope for from a dedicated coffee shop. Unfortunately the barista seemed inexperienced and timid. Better training on coffee preparation techniques and customer order clarification would significantly improve the experience. In summary, while Corner Coffee's aesthetic is appealing, the poor quality of the coffee, the apparent inexperience of the barista, and the lack of menu creativity make it difficult to recommend. If you're looking for a good cup of coffee, you'd be better off looking elsewhere in Savannah.

Stopped in here for matcha. Clean, comfortable, and incredibly friendly. The matcha was good and our service was impeccable. A.G. was our barista and she was super friendly and knowledgeable. She shared some local sites and tips with us while providing fantastic service.

AG was my barista who made me the best iced matcha. She is very friendly and gave me some local tips! Try this place when you are in town.

I had high hopes for this matcha, but unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The taste was bitter and just like a water. It didn’t taste fresh like good quality matcha should. Honestly, it felt like they used the cheapest powder available and didn’t bother to mix it properly. Definitely not something I’d order again. Unfortunately, even the second attempt didn’t live up to expectations. smoothness that a good matcha should have. For $9, I expected something much higher in quality. Sadly, it just wasn’t worth the price.
