Crema's Take
“Brass Tacks is a sprawling Houston gem with genuinely distinctive vibes—lush plants, interesting architectural spaces, and a friendly crew that makes you want to settle in for hours. Whether you're there for their beautifully crafted drinks (coffee and surprisingly affordable cocktails alike), a study session, or catching up with friends on the charming outdoor patio, the place just hits right, even when it gets packed around late morning.”

Came here for drinks with my girls! The outdoor seating area is super cute and our drinks were beautiful and yummy. Also cocktails very reasonably priced! The parking lot is really small so keep that in mind, we ended up circling around the block and someone luckily left as we were coming back around.
I can't recall how I first learned about Brass Tacks but it's easily got the best coffee spot vibe that I've experienced. Love the ambiance (the plants!), the interesting space, and friendly staff. If I lived closer I'd be working out of here at least once a week. They have food and drinks to keep you fueled up. My only suggestion is for the venue to consider adding electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to the parking lot. I drove in from SW Houston and the time I spent at Brass Tacks would have been enough to plug in and get 25 miles of range to go back home. I recommend reaching out to local Houston business, Pangea Charging, if you decide to explore this. I actually saw 4 others EVs (10% of all 40 parking spaces) come and go during my visit. I'd say the demand is there!
Lovely place with plenty of seating areas. To my luck the place was super crowded when I came, around 11:30am. Had to wait to find a spot where I could work at. The vanilla latte + breakfast burrito was fine. Also had trouble connecting to the internet, for like 40 min they didn’t have service
Happened to find this awesome coffee shop while driving in the area. Service was great and overall vibes was good. Parking lot was a little small but there is street parking available. Outdoor area was not crowded at all, inside can get a little noisy if there’s a huge crowd. Overall great experience.
I spent around six hours at this place studying. The place is huge, and they have plenty of seats. It was full but I was still able to find a place to sit. The decor is cute and the shop is pretty spacious. I liked that the seats were spread out. My biggest issue with this place was the wifi. It kept going off, and it was mostly down for a long time. I told the staff about it, and they didn’t seem to care at all. One person told me that “oh it happens when it’s full.” I found it to be unprofessional to know that the wifi gets down without fixing the issue. In addition, the lady that took my order didn’t seem knowledgeable of the menu at all. I asked for a strawberry matcha, and she didn’t know what it was nor if they made it. I understand that the place was busy, and that she might’ve been in training but it was an awkward conversation in my experience. The matcha was, to be honest, terrible. There was no strawberry in it, the matcha tasted bland, and there was a powdery texture to it. On the other hand, when the place cooled down a bit. The wifi worked fine, and I got a chicken rice bowl which tasted really good! I was surprised with how tasty it was. Overall, I think it’s an OK place to study, but be prepared to possibly face wifi issues.
