Crema's Take

This Long Beach bakery is a vibrant spot for authentic Mexican and Central American pan dulce paired with thoughtfully made coffee and fresh juices. Beyond the pastries, the warm staff and lively atmosphere make it as much about the experience as the food—regulars rave about the energy and keep coming back for their bolillos, pan de muerto, and that perfect cold brew to chase it all down. Fair warning: quality can be inconsistent with the baked goods, so stick to their clearly strong suit of traditional breads and pan dulce.

I bought the rosca de Reyes in the morning around 10am, and it stayed fresh, moist, and delicious until we cut into it around 9pm. The medium rosca ($32) came with two baby figurines and was more than enough for seven adults, with leftovers to take home. Highly recommend!

I specifically asked for a tres leches cake. I was told every cake on their rack was tres leches. I paid 55 dollars for a dry chocolate cake. Save your money do not buy from these people, they will scam you.

Walked in asked if they sold something similar to a French baguette, but they only have the big rounder rolls. Bummer, but I love bread - “pan dulce” so I bought 4 of the cookie breads with the chocolate chips on top and 1 strawberry shortcake roll. Has to be the most expensive stale pan dulce I’ve ever purchased to date. It was 10.25 for ehh’ pan dulce. Maybe their food is better as the lady was pushing I buy a meal in the morning, but I was just inquiring about baguettes. Simply put, this Bakery cannot bake I would recommend looking anywhere else for pan dulce.

Marilu’s Bakery is a cute little bakery specializing in Mexican and Central American baked goods. They also have hot and cold coffee drinks and fresh pressed juices. I came here for pan de muerto and got exactly what I was looking for. Reasonable prices too. I recommend!

Needed a boost after a night of partying! Got a jugo and a bollito. Everything was fresh and delicious. I’ve been 2x this week! The music and staff are a vibe!
