Burgie's Coffee | North Ames
3701 Stange Rd, Ames, IA
Crema's Take
“Burgie's is the kind of place where your son wants to celebrate his birthday—a sleek, modern café that somehow feels both classically warm and contemporary, with staff like Dakota who make you feel genuinely welcomed. Their espresso drinks are genuinely excellent (reviewers specifically praised the flat white), and they've mastered the harder trick of pairing that with a solid food program, from pesto eggs to breakfast burritos that actually live up to the hype. Whether you're diving into work for the afternoon or grabbing something quick on a Sunday, they deliver the goods without pretension.”

It was a busy place on a Sunday afternoon, but we were able to order quickly and get our drinks/food within 5 minutes. The ham breakfast burrito was delicious and was everything I wanted it to be. I will definitely be back!
When I asked my son where he wanted to go for his birthday morning, he replied “Burgies!” This is the classiest coffee shop in town. Beautiful, warm, and friendly! Dakota was welcoming and made our order perfectly! 10/10!
This cafe is great - super sleek, modern and clean. We had a very good and productive afternoon here. The flat white was excellent and the chai surpassed our expectations wildly. Bathrooms were very clean - but there was no toilet paper in one of them and the water jug did not get refilled despite being nearly empty. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this cafe! They have their own beer too!
The food is delicious, I've tried their pesto egg and their breakfast burrito so far and both have been excellent. Coffee is great too. However I was almost driven insane from the number of times I heard Olivia Rodrigo's "good 4 you" song play while I was working from the coffee shop. If they improve their playlist a bit I would say their coffee shop is awesome!
Love that we have a great coffee shop in North Ames now! Perfect location in this part of town and yummy coffee (it is expensive as others have pointed out, but if you want cheap go to mcdonalds...). It's a small building so there's not a ton of seating but they've added as many as they can and there's a variety of types of seating (small and big table, bar style seating, outdoor tables and chairs). They also just added umbrellas to all the outdoor tables which will really expand the usefullness of that eastern facing area in the mornings! There are tons of outlets everywhere, which is a rare treat! My only complaint is that the music is SO LOUD AND THUMPY. It's fine for studying because I can put headphones on to soften the blow, but it does make having a conversation with someone difficult...
