Royal Ground Coffee
2342 Clement St, Richmond, CA
Crema's Take
“Royal Ground Coffee in Richmond has earned serious loyalty from regulars who appreciate the owners' genuine warmth and the cozy, homey atmosphere that somehow feels both intimate and cool despite the tight quarters. The coffee and creative drinks are genuinely excellent—think beautifully executed matcha lattes and quality cider—and the buttery, creamy pastries like their almond croissant make it easy to linger with a laptop or a loved one for hours. Fair warning: the service flows most smoothly if you're already part of the Royal Ground family, but if you stick around, you'll likely join their devoted circle.”

While the staff/owners are really nice, the service, if you are not a regular, is really bad. I've gone 3 times now (this will be my last) and each time, after I ordered my drinks...the staff/owners would move any regular customers drink ahead of making mine (I'm not a regular). On each occasion, the staff helped regular customers (some with the same drink as me) before making mine. Today it was 6 regulars before coming back to my drink. While this place may be great for regulars, if you are not one, I highly recommend trying some of their competitors in the same location.
I love going to the Royal Ground with my Dad when I come to visit him. The food and coffee are great! The owners are wonderful people and they always treat my father very well 🥰
I can always come here to get some studying done or get a quick bite. The ambience is homely and a bit cramped but that adds to the cool factor there. Real good coffee and cider. Service is top tier
I only had time to stop here once and I got a Matcha with oat milk that was delicious. The atmosphere was very cozy and fun. The two women that worked there were very sweet. They seem to have a lot of regulars that came in that they got to chat up with, which was nice to see. The menu looked fairly decent.
Lovely coffee shop. The workers were really helpful, kind and friendly. The other review mentioned they have good croissants, I had the almond croissant and it was heavenly! They were really creamy and had many layers. Their aroma green tea is also amazing! I will definitely come back if I am near here next time!
