Oak & Saint
215 Coca-Cola Pl, San Antonio, TX
Crema's Take
“Oak & Saint is a hidden gem tucked away in a San Antonio courtyard that rewards the effort to find it with a serene, artsy minimalist space designed for lingering conversations. Their real showstopper is the matcha program—they honor traditional preparation techniques in their lattes, creating drinks that feel as intentional as the calming atmosphere itself. While pricing leans premium and the location requires some detective work, those who discover this spot find themselves captivated by its modern, Instagram-worthy aesthetic and the care poured into both espresso-focused classics and signature creative drinks.”

I was very excited to try this coffee shop. I live about 25 minutes away from it, so it was a drive. When I got here the doors were locked. A woman saw me looking around and said “they should be open, try knocking”. I knocked waited around and knocked again and no answer. I drove around for 10 minutes thinking there was another entrance and there wasn’t. I came back to my he front door and tried again and still no answer. This time another potential customer was also knocking. I ended up leaving because nobody came to the door. I was looking forward to trying this coffee shop. The website says it closes at 12am and the time is 5:06PM currently. I would understand if a sign on the door said they closed early because life happens and I get that. There was no sign, but you could hear music playing.
Word of the day is “artsy” to describe the minimalist vibe of the place. Interesting atmosphere with traditional matcha making technique that was presented in the matcha latte drink. Literally a hidden gem because the location is hidden. Follow signs and you will find it.
I’ve lived in San Antonio for 2 years and had no idea this gem existed until I saw an ad pop up on instagram yesterday. Wow! Just wow. This place is a whole vibe. Immediately felt my shoulders relax with the calm minimalistic aesthetic and chill soundtrack. No way could this place feel amazing AND offer legit espresso drinks, right? Wrong. My iced oat milk latte was so smooth and perfectly balanced sweetness. My husband’s cortado was *chef’s kiss.* Pastries were so delish that we got some to go. This place isn’t close to my house, but I don’t care. I’ll be back. Thank you Oak & Saint!
The overall vibe of the place is cute and very trendy/modern. It’s definitely photo worthy! I was excited to visit as I’ve been following them on Instagram since they opened. However, I do feel it’s a little misleading as the actual coffee area is very small with limited seating. I’m an avid coffee shop goer and have to admit, the one-size cup for iced drinks is small and is about the same price as other shops. I wish it was a little bigger or even just given more size options. The barista wasn’t the friendliest and when asked about syrups, she told me to scan the QR code for the full menu. Lol it wasn’t the nicest vibe but of course, I think the actual space is still nice. Hopefully with these suggestions, they can make some improvements and be even better!
The location is at the back of the building. You'll need to park and walk up stairs and through a courtyard to get there. For the size of the latte, I felt it was overpriced. The lavender was good though. I didn't try any of the pastries. The vibe is very sterile with limited seating, but if it's a beautiful day you could always hang out in the courtyard outside. The barista was kind and quick at her job. I wish the full menu was available somewhere other than having to pull it up on my phone though.
