Crema's Take
“This bustling Key West institution delivers genuine Cuban coffee traditions alongside creative specialty drinks and a full breakfast menu that keeps both cruise passengers and locals coming back. While opinions vary on authenticity, the real draw is the speed, quality, and that legendary key lime pie—perfect for grabbing something hot and satisfying before heading out to explore the island. The casual, family-friendly vibe and prime location near the port makes it an easy win for anyone craving bold espresso drinks and reliable pastries without the pretension.”

Not sure why they call this Cuban coffee. It was a shot of espresso and a little bit of sugar. I have had real Cuban style coffee and this isn't it. Don't fall for the tourist trap. The employees weren't even Cuban and when I asked about the authenticity of the coffee, I was told we give you a shot of espresso with a little sugar. If you want it sweeter you have to add it.
Best coffee and breakfast in Key West. I ended up bringing Cuban coffee home with me because it was so good. The Key Lime Pie was legendary.
Stopped by on our port from our cruise. Got the Sunrise special and Main Lander. Both were great and came out fast, hot, and fresh.
I visited Cuban Coffee Queen to order two cortaditos, a standard coffee drink known worldwide as 4 ounces of espresso with just a touch of milk. I have over five years of experience in the coffee and hospitality industry, so I know exactly what I am ordering. From the very beginning, the employee was confrontational. She insisted that cortaditos be served in 8 oz cups, essentially turning them into cappuccinos, and claimed it was my fault for “not reading the menu,” even attempting to charge me again. The menu clearly does not list cortaditos as 8 oz, this was completely inaccurate. She did not ask for our milk preference, offered no guidance, and displayed a visibly annoyed and challenging attitude. When I tried to clarify and request the correct order, she refused to handle it professionally and insisted on the additional charge, claiming “it wasn’t her decision, it was her boss’s” and “there are cameras.” This is shocking and unprofessional. In the hospitality industry, a simple $2.45 espresso shot should never escalate into a confrontation. Employees should aim to turn a negative experience into a positive one, but this staff member clearly does not understand basic hospitality. I requested a refund, left the coffee, and will never return. In a highly touristy location, this level of service is unacceptable. The staff clearly lacks proper training and motivation, and the business risks losing customers over minor issues due to poor attitude and lack of professionalism. If you value proper service, attention to detail, and basic respect as a customer, be warned this place fails on all basic hospitality standards.
The better of the coffee chains you are going to find on the island, definitely opt to going here. Quick service in and out. Located right off the cruise terminal, you’re a few steps away from your fix. The coffee is bold and the caramel provides good flavor, and it seems you can fill Cuban bread up with anything. The guava filling was tasty enough.
