Alfred Coffee
5815 N Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA
Crema's Take
“Alfred Coffee draws a loyal crowd with genuinely warm, upbeat staff and a roster of creative signature drinks that go beyond typical café fare—think iced salted maple lattes and matcha coladas that keep people coming back. While the seating can feel a bit quirky and the menu design could use some work, the fresh pastries (that cinnamon roll is legendary), consistent quality drinks, and welcoming vibe make it an ideal spot whether you're settling in for work or catching up with friends.”

The menu was quite hard to read. The quality of pastries was fresh. Cinnamon roll was delicious and cheese scone was very satisfying. Seating were strange and uncomfortable though. Coffee was on the sweet side.
Alfred Coffee is my go-to spot in LA for consistently amazing drinks and service. The staff is genuinely kind, welcoming, and always upbeat—which makes every visit a great experience. Their baristas really know their craft, and the drinks are perfectly balanced every time, whether it’s a latte, cappuccino, or something seasonal. The atmosphere is clean, stylish, and perfect for either grabbing a quick coffee or hanging out for a while. It’s rare to find a place that combines quality, consistency, and friendliness so well. Alfred Coffee truly sets the standard for what a coffee shop should be in Los Angeles. Highly recommend!
Loveeee the iced salted maple latte! This is my favorite Alfred location for the vibes, atmosphere, and kind staff. It’s a great place to spend some time catching up with friends or get some work done. Drinks are always great!
My neighbor and I went to Alfred’s this morning for the first time. We were excited to check it out. We walk every day and have tried every Coffee House in Highland Park. We ordered and they called out My Neighbor‘s name and he promptly picked up his pastry and coffee which placed together. I ordered first and had not received my coffee yet so I asked the barista’s for my order. They indicate that they had already called out my name, which I had not heard. My neighbor discovered that he was given my drink with his pastry. We asked the barista for his drink, and that mine have been mistakenly given to him. They proceeded to dispute my request to make me the drink again since it had been already tasted by my friend. They proceeded to make him his drink as ordered, but declined to make me a new drink. I had already paid almost 9 dollars for the latte. This is not a way to treat first time customers. They have a lot of competition in Highland Park with other great coffee houses with excellent coffee and service. The service was unfriendly and off putting. . My Neighbor and I will not be coming back. We have too many great options in Highland Park. This is below standard in service and product.
I've been a fan of Alfred since moving to LA the beginning of this year. I came in to this one in particular for their grand opening and I just gotta say. The matcha colada is my favorite. The vibe of the store is super cute, and it just feels very cozy. Definitely a great place to study. I especially loved their open aired windows. Probably the best thing though was the customer service, everyone was super friendly and I only waited like 3 minutes for my drink.
