Crema's Take
“This beloved mom-and-pop spot near UCCS crafts their own syrups and partners with local High Rise Coffee Roasters to deliver espresso drinks that punch above their weight—think perfectly executed flat whites and creative signature drinks like the Laura Palmer (a bright coffee-lemonade hybrid). The cozy, college-adjacent atmosphere and genuinely warm service from staff like Jonathan make it the kind of place where you'll linger over a homemade pastry or breakfast bagel, even if the food leans casual. It's the rare coffee shop that nails both the beverage craft and the human touch that keeps people coming back.”

Great little mom & pop coffee shop. They make most of their own syrups and I believe they use locally roasted beans from High Rise Coffee Roasters (in OCC). Pictured is a Toffee latte with cinnamon
The food was okay, mainly just premade and microwave it seemed like. Drinks were amazing, music was wonderful, and the customer service was amazing! They seem to have a great atmosphere other than the fact that the place is small. I came to work here a couple days this week, and I came this Saturday cause I was expecting a similar experience. I ordered and when I got my food and drink I asked them why the wifi I had been using previously to work was no longer available and they claimed they turn it on at 1pm. I guess the expectation is that people don’t have to do work on Saturdays or if they do they don’t want those people as customers. I tried to stay and use a hotspot but I was surrounded by a meeting group that didn’t have enough space so they stood around my table with their food and drinks. I attempted to connect to my phones hotspot which also wouldn’t work because they have bad access to cellular service. Not a place cohesive for those of us who work remotely and just want a nice atmosphere to work quietly and not bother anyone. I know I should’ve checked the reviews before coming and spending money here cause this seems to be a common complaint, hopefully the owners are taking note and attempting to improve the conditions in their establishment. I feel like their wifi withholding was not properly communicated and that it is purposefully not communicated so that people are tricked into spending money at a coffee shop that doesn’t promote an environment conducive to all.
Coffee was ok. Ordered a flat white but it tasted a bit burnt. Cool spot with a college vibe since it’s so close to UCCS. They have heaps of food options as well.
Jonathan was so kind and helpful, sharing with us everything they offer! Kawa Coffee has such a warm, cozy ambiance. I will definitely be back :)
Love Love this small, small very cute atmosphere. My breakfast bagel was amazing the bagels alone are great taste. I also had a Luara Palmer its a lemonade with coffee super good. The chi coffee was great as well. Definitely will come back.
