The Read Queen Bookstore & Cafe
129 N Harrison Ave, Lafayette, CO
Crema's Take
“This charming Lafayette spot seamlessly blends indie bookstore browsing with thoughtful espresso drinks, creating the perfect third place for lingering with a pour-over or getting lost in a "blind date with a book." The staff's genuine warmth and the cozy interior plus outdoor reading nooks make it equally beloved by solo coffee enthusiasts settling in with laptops and families stopping by for a pre-museum caffeine boost. It's the kind of neighborhood gem where you'll discover not just great espresso, but also unexpected gifts and the kind of attentive service that makes you wonder why you hadn't found it sooner.”

Such a cute spot! Everyone was so nice! Great coffee tons to look at and I sucker for a “blind date with a book”! Will definitely be back
I have been driving past their little "books and espresso this way" sign for weeks, and finally decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did! Cute space, very helpful staff, the drink I got was yummy. The best part was their $2 used book cart outside, with some great titles! It's so rare to find best sellers in a bargain bin, but I bought 2 from their bin. I'll be back to take advantage of their buy back program!
Love this place as much for a coffee with my family as for a bookstore. We often stop here for coffees before/after taking our toddler to the WOW Museum next door or going to the farmers market. I shop here for books and I also trade in the books I've read for store credit. I LOVE their greeting card selection. As someone who always buys a funny or well-designed card when I find one, I'm constantly stocking up here. The one time I couldn't find a book I needed for book club, they ordered it for me and said they often do it for entire book clubs. For a small book store they really do pack an excellent and timely selection of adult books. The kids section is small and a tiny bit tough to follow the organization at times, but my kid always has found something, whether it's a sticker book, a gift for a friend, a board book or baby toy, etc. Overall I'd say - good coffee, good book selection, very good for finding a gift for someone.
coolest environment, great selection of books, and the kindest staff ever! They also have so many fun knick-knack gifty type things. Really the only way they could improve would be if they adopted a bookstore cat and let it free roam.
I love this place, wish I had found it sooner. So cozy inside and nice spots outside to read too. If they don’t have a book you want you can order through them and pick it up. The staff is very nice and even re made my drink that I wanted sweeter and were very nice about it! There’s so many good gifts here too like cute book marks and jewelry.
