Jack's Bistro & Famous Bagels
53 S Milpas St, Santa Barbara, CA
Crema's Take
“This Santa Barbara spot is beloved for its genuinely fresh, house-made bagels that pair perfectly with creative sandwiches like the jalapeño cheddar with bacon and pesto cream cheese, drawing loyal locals who rave about the quality. The breezy outdoor terrace with umbrellas makes it ideal for a casual breakfast or quick coffee meet-up, though the ordering system (counter inside, eating outside) takes a minute to figure out. Their traditional coffee drinks hit the mark, but honestly, people come back for those bagels—whether it's the everything with lox or whatever creative combo you dream up.”

Located down the street from our VRBO. Great service, coffee, and of course bagels! Our go-to: everything bagel/poppy seed with lox. Delicious!
Huge selection of bagels and sandwiches to choose from. We got the protein bagel sandwich with sausage on the jalapeño bagel. They put cream cheese and American cheese to go with the sausage and eggs. My wife got a dirty chai and said it was delicious. I stuck with the traditional coffee which was a good blend. Highly recommend you try when in town.
bagels were amazing! had the bacon b-egg-l on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and dipped it in pesto cream cheese and it was delicious!! you can tell the bagels are fresh/homemade. my parents had the lox bagel which they said was amazing as well. service from the first younger employee was definitely lacking. she was extremely short and unhelpful when ordering but the second lady was so accommodating and helpful so that made up for it! will definitely be returning! 10/10 for the food :)
We came to get some breakfast. It was easy to find the restaurant and park right outside it. The place has a terrace with tables and umbrellas, the orders are made inside. Inside the interior is a bit outdated, but it was lovely and nicely decorated for Christmas. The place has a decent toilet. There were plenty of customers, also many workers, so the queue was moving fast. The selection of food was large. We ordered two breakfast bagels (one with egg and sausage another -Greek style with egg, spinach and feta cheese) and a tea. We paid 20+ usd. We first had to go to another counter and wait for our tea, then we went outside, sat at a table and waited for bagels. They arrived in 5-10 minutes - the waiter calls you by name. The bagels were tasty, I really liked the one with feta cheese. The bagels were wrapped in plenty of foil and packed in a paper bag: I’m not sure it was needed - we were not planning to eat on the go. Overall a nice and cozy place, pleasant time and good start of the day.
You can’t sit inside, you make an order, wait for a drink and look for a table outside, where they then bring you a package with your order. the menu is too large, it is very difficult to figure out when to come to the cafe for the first time. we ordered two bagels, one was vegan and absolutely not tasty. I also ordered a cappuccino and got just coffee in which they poured a little whipped milk, the taste of coffee was disgusting
