Crema's Take

This rustic Augusta gathering spot shines as an event destination with a warm, spacious atmosphere that feels both elegant and inviting, earning consistent praise for its attentive bartenders and smooth service during corporate parties and Masters season celebrations. While reviews highlight the beautiful banquet hall setting and strong team energy, potential event planners should factor in their fee structure carefully before booking. It's a place that clearly excels at creating special occasions when everything aligns.

Our experience with The Foundry at Rae’s Creek and Roux Catering was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I communicated directly with Robert, the owner, about securing our wedding date. After visiting on a Saturday, I submitted my selected menu on Sunday so I could receive a quote. I had already reviewed the menu prior to that — I simply needed pricing in order to move forward. During our communication, I was told to wait a few days and look over the menu. Again, I had already done that and was ready to secure the building. I had no issue paying the deposit he requested. In fact, he told me the deposit would be the full amount $3100 for the building — which was different from the $500 deposit listed on the website — but I was still prepared to pay it because I knew I wanted the venue. On Tuesday, I called to check on the menu quote and to go ahead and pay the deposit. I was then told that someone had called earlier that same day — before me — to book the building and that my date was no longer available. Being told to wait, following that instruction, and then losing the date is unacceptable. The timing also feels like an incredible coincidence. What makes this even more frustrating is that our current venue and several other vendors either gave us a grace period to hold our date or clearly communicated that they would notify us if another inquiry came in before booking over us. That level of transparency and courtesy is standard practice. We were not given that consideration here. Wedding planning requires clear communication and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I strongly encourage future couples to clarify hold policies in writing and not rely solely on verbal direction. I do not recommend this venue due to the unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and lack of consideration for potential clients.

We attended a corporate christmas party here and it was beautiful! Very classy, elegant. The vibe was there for sure. The facility was very spacious, and calm and warm. There is an outdoor covered patio with seating and a large fire place. There are gas heaters on the roof to heat the patio. The company that caters there is called ROUX. The food was phenomenal, truly some of the best food I have ever had! It was unique and delicious. The wait staff were very nice and helpful. Overall a 10/10 experience. I highly recommend for any occasion. Even though it is on down town augusta, it is tucked away from everything. They also had security.

Be very careful booking a wedding (or any event) here because of the expenses. There are examples below. We contacted them to move our date 5.5 months in advance and were charged an additional $500. The original date ended up being 2 weeks after the hurricane. We wanted to use the back patio for our wedding ceremony. We were charged an extra $300 after paying for the rental of the whole building. That was never mentioned in the contract. We had to pay a extra $200 for a security guard at our event. No mention of this in the contract. The food cost was suppose to be $34.00 per person according to the menu. The actual cost ended up being $61.86 per person due to us having 80 people. We had to use their full service bar instead of bringing our own alcohol, which was fine. But little did we know that it only consisted of 5 different alcohols. No shots, no tequila, no champagne, no mixers, no burbon etc. We had no say in what we wanted served at our own reception. I addressed all these things in multiple emails to the owner, but he would never acknowledge the fact that I was correct in catching all these things and that they had never been mentioned. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place as the information I was given to make these decisions was misleading and caused significant cost increases.

Banquet hall type setting for wedding and corporate events. Very nice and has a rustic appeal. Small parking lot off boy scout road in augusta georgia.
