Tailwind Concessions
5235 Portage Rd, Portage, MI
Crema's Take
“Tailwind Concessions leans into a casual airport vibe with an unexpectedly ambitious menu that swings from craft beers and creative cocktails to surprisingly solid pizza and fresh salads. The experience here is hit-or-miss—you might land a genuinely attentive staff member like Kevin who makes your visit memorable, or find yourself waiting for attention while others get seated first. If you're willing to embrace the inconsistency and approach it as a fun food discovery spot rather than expecting polished service, there are real gems here, especially if you're craving something more interesting than typical terminal fare.”

They have several beers with a few that are not known. If you ask to try a sample Ashley sternly addresses you like your asking for a free beer. At $11.25 a beer you would think they can let you try it. Ashley needs some training on how NOT to talk down to people.
Kevin the Manager is awesome 👏🏽 thank you man Aye y’all definitely go check out their menu. They have some great pizza‼️ also shout out to both My Boys Savion and Greg for being great workers and servers‼️
Awful service. I sat at the bar for 5 mins with both servers walking past me. And not saying a word finally someone said I will be with you in a minute. But 2 gentlemen sat down and were served immediately. The food was awful. I got the “home-made”buttermilk tenders and fries for $18.99 and this is what I got. The tap beer was not cold at all. Myself and multiple people asked for ice for their beer. I know this is a small airport and you should made expect less but this service and the food was crazy awful especially for the price
I had the crispy chicken salad with Bleu cheese dressing for $16.50. It was quite a large salad and the chicken was truly crispy! Peach mango smoothie was okay, it was weirdly bitter & not in a tangy way? Service was very friendly & might be slightly understaffed but still very attentive. There is a bar or you can sit at the tables. You can order takeout at the front or dine in. There is a separate menu for dining in with more entrees and appetizers. Take out seems to be handheld items only. Super chill airport so this is a nice option to grab some food before your flight, although it is a little pricey!
I’ve never eaten here before as I usually arrive at the airport not hungry and just in time for my flight. However, thanks to a flight delay (actually bumped) we decided to have lunch here. I was pleasantly surprised. Service was attentive and our food was good. Bonus: I was able to watch a college basketball game that I had planned to miss and also watched the beginning of the first semi final NFL playoff before we boarded. I would eat here again. I had the BLT and the bacon was piled high. Please Let me know you read this by hitting the like. Thank you!
