PrkUp Coffee
197 Van Vorst St, Jersey City, NJ
Crema's Take
“Tucked into Jersey City, PrkUp Coffee draws you in with genuinely warm décor and a layout that actually works for settling in with your laptop for hours. Their specialty drinks shine—regulars rave about the rich, smooth lattes and creative off-menu options like matcha with vanilla shots—though the food can be inconsistent, so stick to what they do best: coffee and a welcoming space to linger.”

Beautiful place. But it is empty and now I see why. The owners are extremely thirsty for customers. But when somebody walks in , they do not know how to treat them. You will be rushed because they are thirsty to make money. There are so many options to choose from But you will not get the time to decide or think because they want you to spend money fast. Let's go for full transparency. They should have a sign that says no black people allowed. If you are black, just avoid going here, they do not appreciate you. They are completely racist. If you are asian , just don't go here either. Told my wife about my experience. She is asian , and she said she actually had the same exact experience. I thought it was an isolated incident , because I was black. But my wife is japanese and she received an aggressive Unwelcoming. Pressure to purchase as well. Extremely sad because we just bought a condo in the neighborhood.
Absolutely loved this place! The decor is warm and the layout is great for doing work in. I got the Vanilla/Coconut latte and the chicken wrap and they were both delicious. The salad that came with my chicken wrap was a little soggy and before I even said anything, one of the women behind the counter made me a whole new salad! Great food, good vibes, plus you can watch the light rail as it goes by
I saw the reviews and thought that it's gonna be a bad experience, but luckily, it was good. The latte I got was rich, smooth, and flavorful. The shop has nice decor and ambiance. The service was kinda okayish, not that friendly but it's alright, I don't mind as far as my coffee is good.
Great place at a nice location, their holiday decor is cute. Got a Matcha latte with a shot of vanilla (it's not there on the menu for some reason but you can ask). It tasted great, well blended just enough sweet. They also have many seasonal coffee drinks options to check out.
Second time there, second time disappointed. Ordered a 15 dollar Waldorf grilled cheese. Barely any cheese, apple was old, lacking chicken. It was more like stale toast with some dry toppings (see pictures). This comes with soup of the day. We didn’t know it was clam chowder. A fine soup but not the ideal companion to grilled cheese. Won’t be back for either food or their unusually tasting coffees (likely milk that was left out at room temperature for too long).
