Cafe TJ
1 University Blvd, St. Louis, MO
Crema's Take
“Nestled within a historic library setting, Cafe TJ offers a uniquely studious refuge where you can settle in with quality coffee and light food while surrounded by the rich archives of Missouri history. The knowledgeable and genuinely helpful staff create an welcoming atmosphere that draws regulars back again and again, making it as much about connection and contemplation as it is about the coffee itself. This is the kind of place where an afternoon disappears peacefully—whether you're working, reading, or simply enjoying the weight of history around you.”

This library is devoted to Missouri history. An appointment is required to do research. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. There is a lot of construction going on so be prepared to do a lot of walking.
One of the oldest libraries in St. louis. This library has various genres of books that are accessible for students attending the University of Missouri St. louis as well as to the common people. This library provides resource link containing the details of the books available in the library and the location where they are situated in the library. It also has study rooms that are accessible for students and let them study in a peaceful and calm environment.
I’m here all the time. Great study environment. Staff is very helpful and nice! Mercantile library is my favorite area to study. They also have a cafe where you can purchase food and drinks.
Worst university library in STL region. Starting with the ridiculously short hours and then the ridiculous LOUD and annoying announcements every 10 minutes starting at 9:45pm about how they're about to close the library at 10:30pm. So basically after 9:45pm you can't even study. The restrooms and the entire 1st floor smells like the restroom because they don't have air vents in their restrooms. The lighting is always dim. All and all, instead of spending millions on a Rec Center, invest on this outdated and dirty library.
Great place to study, and print (printers are student access only). Good book selection and lots of history in the Mercantile Library downstairs. The staff are friendly and very helpful with a variety of things such as research, navigating the library, and checking out study materials. One of my favorite places to meet people is in Cafe TJ, located inside.
