Summary: Pricey but beautiful cakes, don't expect it to taste good every time, and if you do choose to order? Go in store, to avoid any confusion on price or design. You can read more about my personal experience below. (this is not an attack at any one person, this is just my personal experience) I want to start by saying that up to now, everyone in my family have had nothing but amazing things to say about La Plume. Their drinks and flavor profiles are always exactly what they describe and are delicious. My recent order with La Plume, displayed a flip in service, and cake quality and as a result, I will no longer be a customer with them. Let's talk about my recent experience: Cake Itself: 6 in Matcha Cake, with chocolate filling and vintage design: $75 (Picked up at 4:00 pm, Eaten at 7:00 pm) I ordered a custom happy birthday cake, and the exterior was beautiful, stunning really, which is amazing since I stated it was for a photoshoot. BUT! The quality of the cake, was really dense, dry, and lacked flavor. I could not believe this was a La Plume cake. No one wanted to eat the cake, and out of the small 6 inch cake, only half was eaten by the eight people present after the photoshoot. For reference, I have ordered this exact flavor combination last year in May and it was nothing short of amazing. Truly worth the $80 I paid for the previous cake, and everyone loved it, but the real reason I will no longer be a customer, is because of the inconsistent service. Service: The last time I ordered a cake it was done in store at a table with the person on shift. They were very kind and talked me through the entire process, and I was in and out within 30 min. This time I did start my order through a phone call, then was directed to message them over instagram, then after I messaged on instagram to show the design, I was told to order online on their website. Then there was a lot of confusion with the pricing so I had to end up calling again, and after all that. I had realized this morning they had overcharged me by $5 for a matcha filling, my cake did not have a matcha filling (photos attached). My cake was a Matcha Base which should have been included in the pricing for the cake. There was also some confusion regarding the first cake that I wanted to order, but after speaking to three different La Plume staff, the situation was cleared up. Thank you for the beautiful cake, it was great for the photoshoot. I will acknowledge that the first time I worked with y'all it was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a patiserie which is why this experience so much more disappointing. Update/clarification: We started our photoshoot at 5:00 pm and the cake was eaten at 7:00 pm so the cake was left out of the fridge for a total of 2 hours. For the pricing, I understand that the matcha cost $5 extra but only the matcha filling was listed on your website with an extra charge. I did call right after my online order to confirm everything over the phone, because the order form asks you to. I was told on the phone about the extra charge for the vintage cake design, but not the matcha charge. I honestly completely missed the email until the morning after and saw that there was a $5 charge for the matcha. The previous cake was picked up on May 23rd, 2025, and I attached a photo of it for further clarification. Thank you for your quick response.

I am extremely disappointed with this cake and the service. While the cake looked acceptable at first glance, the quality completely fell apart once it was cut and tasted. Taste & Texture (Major Issue) • The cake was very dry, flat, and airy, almost like it had no moisture at all. • It was not sweet, had very little flavor, and left everyone’s mouth extremely dry. • No one ate the cake. It is now going in the trash. Filling & Order Accuracy • I clearly requested a moist chocolate cake with caramel filling between the layers. • Instead, they used a chocolate filling inside the cake, which I explicitly said I did not want. • The caramel that was added was liquid caramel, layered on top of the chocolate filling, and it was barely noticeable—you could not taste it at all. • I was told caramel would be inside the cake and chocolate would be used around it. That did not happen. Design & Structure • The hula hoop decoration does not stand on its own and kept falling over. I had to use a sticker just to hold it in place. • The final design was very different from the reference photos I provided. • Once cut, the cake looked uneven and poorly assembled. I paid $120 for this cake, and it ended up completely wasted because nobody liked it. For a custom cake, I expected accuracy, moisture, and proper execution. Unfortunately, this cake failed in taste, structure, and order fulfillment.

This area has many great food options, and dessert at La Plume Bakery & Cafe did not disappoint. The fruit-shaped desserts are not only beautiful but also come in a variety of flavors. Their mille crepes are light, delicate, and perfectly layered, and the bakery items are just as impressive. Everything looks like art. A perfect spot to end a meal or stop by for a sweet treat!

Cute little bakery-cafe. I tried the chocolate cake, macaroons and liked both, I did not like the croissant. I will return to try the drinks and other pastries. I ordered a custom cake and they did not disappoint, the cake was so beautiful and delicious!

Warning: this is a full copy of Lady M (selection, style and even looks of all cakes), for the !same! high price point but the flavors and taste is just not as good as Lady M. I don’t see how anyone would go here, if there is a Lady M place literally 5min down the road, where you get the same stuff for same price but better taste. Don’t get me wrong - not a bad place. But the price point is not justified. I guess time will tell how the business will do
