Crema's Take

Tucked inside Gatlinburg's Margaritaville Hotel, Joe Merchant's offers a genuinely friendly spot to fuel up before exploring the Smokies, with warm baristas and a clean, welcoming cafe that hits the mark on both coffee and hearty breakfast sandwiches on bagels and croissants. While service can be inconsistent during busy times, their rotating specialty coffee drinks and cinnamon buns make it worth a visit if you're staying nearby or passing through town.

This is a good quick breakfast option if you're staying at the resort. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The meat sandwiches on bagel, english muffin or croissant are a good bet, and come with potatoes. My wife enjoyed her egg white omelete and fruit plate meals. The coffee drinks were enjoyed as well. The staff was all friendly and the food came out quick. See my photos and judge for yourself - it all tasted good to us! Recommended.

We really like the Margaritaville Hotel and find it first class in most ways. The Joe Merchant’s Coffee and Provisions is not really one of them. This is a small sandwich and coffee restaurant off the lobby. The food is average and the service is okay, but not very friendly. With a little effort it could be a lot better.

Order: Spinach Omelet Ham and Cheese Omelet All American Breakfast Price: $60 All food took 30-40 minutes to come out while other people behind us got their food much quicker. None of the food was seasoned at all. Spinach Omelet: Dry and had 5 leafs of spinach on top seemingly as an afterthought. Ham and Cheese Omelet: Dry, Burnt, and no Ham in a Ham and Cheese Omelet. Once remade, it looked like a mess with it seeping in water. (Pictured) All American: Sunnyside eggs were curdled, the potatoes were shriveled and dried, and the ham curled as if it was mircowaved. Once remade, the food was tossed on the plate very sloppily, the potatoes (that usually come with other peppers) had two green bellpepper specks the size of a pepperflake and shriveled red peppers. Overall, very very disappointing that food would be allowed to be served the way it was.

We stopped in before leaving Gatlinburg. Baristas were super courteous! I got an iced coffee and a warm cinnamon bun. Nice clean cafe area. Also a large orange tom cat crossed our path in the parking lot and we were greatly pleased.

Try the breakfast menu for a tasty, filling meal. We couldn't get enough of their coffee!! Tried a variety of different drinks and loved them all.
