Crema's Take

Tatte's Pier 4 location is a bright, generously windowed haven with plush seating that invites you to linger for hours with your laptop or a friend, making it equally suited for serious work sessions and leisurely catch-ups. Their pastry case doesn't disappoint—expect a thoughtful rotation of baked goods like cherry almond scones that stay reasonably priced even late in the day, paired with carefully crafted coffee that feels intentional rather than rushed. While quality can be inconsistent across visits, the warm, clean atmosphere and attentive service (like custom sandwich requests) keeps regulars coming back as a beloved Boston staple.

Walking into a busy cafe, I'm looked forward to a good experience with good food. When I ordered my sandwich, I had requested if they could cut the sandwich in half so it's easier to eat on the go. They 'can't' the staff said. They were kind enough to correct my order when I had I questioned further-I had ordered the wrong meal, so again, I asked if they could cut the one piece of bread for me but was directed to the utensil area so I could cut the bread myself. I see other meals that include a piece of toast, which was cut in half yet they couldn't cut my bread in half - literally just the bread and they wouldn't. Disappointed with the customer service.

Not sure if its just this Tatte location or if all Tattes have gone down in quality over the years?? I lived in Boston for a number of years but have since moved away. I went back to visit in Sept. 2025 and was thoroughly let down by the quality and taste of the baked goods. I used to love the kouign amanns but this one tasted a day or two old. The morning bun was much better.

Tatte is exactly what I want in a cafe. I spent every day of my Boston visit here (fingers crossed they make it to Philly one day). Every location has huge windows, comfy cushions, and a relaxed atmosphere. You are not rushed out and feel welcome to hang here for hours. (You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table.) The menu has a large and diverse selection of items I have never had before and loved: a matcha bomb, white and peach iced tea, strawberry chamomile tea, broccolini/squash pita, chai latte - everything we had was delicious. I wanted to keep trying new things every day and always felt surprised and delighted.

I did not have food, but enjoyed my coffee, even though the delivery truck did not bring chocolate for me to have my standard mocha. The atmosphere is clean, bright and very fresh. There is a lot of space for eating, catching up on email, people watching, and enjoying the food and coffee. The extra foamy cappuccino was perfect and well balanced.

A nice bakery with a good assortment of baked goods, even at the end of the day. The pastries weren’t too expensive and the cherry almond scone was tasty. There are a good number of tables both inside and outside and the atmosphere is very nice. The staff was friendly and service was quick.
