Crema's Take
“Scribbles Coffee is a genuinely passionate espresso and pour-over destination where the owner's meticulous attention to ingredient quality shines through in every cup—this is the spot for coffee nerds who notice the difference. The welcoming, artistic space (featuring local artists) and genuinely friendly staff create an inviting atmosphere for lingering conversations or solo coffee contemplation, though you might want to skip the butter-heavy pastries in favor of their matcha tea or other house-made treats.”

Update! I strongly advise against their pastries. The butter used is so overpowering that it ruins the taste. On the positive side, the staff is incredibly friendly. However, the cleanliness of their washroom, chairs, and tables is appalling. Great coffee, home made caramel and chocolate strouds, and superb customer service! What more can you ask for! There are some t-shirts and art works on display for sale if you feel generous. Otherwise come by here once you need a break from life and enjoy a cup of coffee!
Absolutely amazing! Great service, delish treats-my daughter says if we weren’t in public she would have licked her plate. 🍵 Matcha was traditional Japanese style. Supports local artist beautiful artwork for sale.
hands down my favorite coffee shop in spokane. if you’re a coffee nerd or care about the quality of every ingredient going into your food/drink, this is the spot for you. COFFEE: their espresso is wonderful and roasted to perfection. all the syrups are made in house. the ingredients they use are of pretty high quality. the matcha and teas are great too. they always top your latte with beautiful foam art. plus, i love that they keep a rotating seasonal syrup menu FOOD: i’ve had nearly all of the pastries and savory items and i have absolutely no complaints on any of them. the people behind the recipes and execution are clearly very creative and have complex and mature pallet. but they know when to keep it simple. ATMOSPHERE: the atmosphere is cozy, clean, and easy on the eyes. the seating is somewhat limited, as the building is small, but they have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. plus, a little birdy told me they are wanting to expand. SERVICE: the staff are so friendly and personable. the prices reflect the quality, and i’d say they’re really reasonable. it’s very clear that these people really care about what they do and what they serve.
Brew Peddler is an absolute gem. The barista took such care with my drink—he spent extra time dialing in the grind on my decaf beans, and it showed. I ordered my usual double short cappuccino, and it was honestly the best coffee I’ve had east of the Cascades… and easily in my top three ever. South Hill folks are lucky to have a place like this. They clearly care about their craft and know what they’re doing. The huckleberry scone was spot-on, too. I’m not sure if they bake on site, but whatever they’re doing, it works—super tasty. Service was top-notch. Even while fine-tuning my decaf, he still managed to take care of everyone coming through the door without missing a beat. Great service. Great product. Just a fantastic shop all around.
I was traveling near Spokane and decided to stop in, I’m so glad I did! The owner was super friendly and really took pride in his work. Everything is personally made, pastries are made there, coffee is roasted locally, syrups are made from scratch! Doesn’t get much better than that! Stop in, you wont be disappointed!
