Pigeon Bagels
5613 Hobart St, Pittsburgh, PA
Crema's Take
“Pigeon Bagels has earned its reputation as Pittsburgh's bagel destination with perfectly executed classics featuring that ideal crispy-outside, soft-inside texture that keeps people driving back repeatedly. The counter service moves quick despite predictable lines, making it an ideal spot to grab an impeccably made bagel and a solid coffee before heading out, though regulars clearly don't mind lingering in this family-friendly spot where the lox is generously piled and the cream cheese spreads are creative enough to elevate a simple bagel into something crave-worthy.”

The bagels were spot on !! Very good crunch on the crust and soft in the middle. The lox bagel was absolutely insane- SO GOOD. lots and lots of salmon. I did have to stand in a line outside and they only let a few people in at a time so if it’s cold which it was - then that’s a bit of a bummer. But overall well worth the visit! And even tho it was busy the person at the register still made time to chit chat a bit and was super friendly which I appreciated.
By far the best bagels in Pittsburgh, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve even started driving them back home to my parents in Detroit. The bagels are always consistent: perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. On my first visit I was a little disappointed there weren’t any egg-and-cheese sandwich options, but once I tried their lox, I never looked back. The line can get very long (especially on summer weekends), but it’s 100% worth it. I always order an everything bagel, but I’ve also heard great things about their rotating bagel-of-the-month.
Absolutely obsessed with the bagels from here! This place gets busy very quickly but the bagels and coffee are always worth the wait.
I came across this bakery while searching for rainbow bagels, though they don’t make them anymore. Instead, we tried a plain bagel with cream cheese and a jalapeño bagel with herb cream cheese. Both were fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The only thing that could’ve made them even better would be the option to have them warmed up/toast, as that isn’t something they currently do. Overall, a great spot for quality bagels
Be prepared for a line and difficult parking! You know this place is good when there’s a consistent line of people out the door. I had a classic lox on marble bagel, iced apple pie latte, and a blueberry and brown sugar pastry. Bagel and coffee were soo yummy! I wished they had bacon/sausage available on the menu but otherwise loved it!
