Rendezvous Cafe

Dept. 3394 1000 E. University Ave., Laramie, WY

Crema's Take

Rendezvous strikes that sweet spot between casual cafe and full restaurant, making it ideal for lingering over coffee or grabbing a quick bite with friends—just be prepared for a bustling, social atmosphere rather than a quiet retreat. The real draw here is the kitchen's skill with breakfast burritos and made-to-order items like street tacos and sandwiches, though recent reviews suggest the quality and portion sizes have shifted since pre-pandemic days, and it's worth asking about their bread situation before ordering. Fair warning: this place has personality and energy in spades, but it's the kind of lively crowd that might be better suited for meeting up than settling in with a book.

Selections are not as many as before COVID shut down. Salads, sandwich, breakfast burrito. The food is very good. Prices have gone up quite a bit, at least the burrito.

Coffee is decent. Burritos are very well made. The atmosphere is quite noisy, especially for being so close to a library. This is more of a restaurant setting than a cafe setting, as the name would imply. The checkout station is a little strange and reminiscent of an old dining hall.

Third is a great spot for a quick bite or drink. Sandwiches are tasty but I love the pork burrito. Really great staff!

Had three of the street tacos. Nice selection of toppings and three different meats. Tried one each of chicken, beef, and pork. All three were soggy. Pulled out of big containers of juice and tasted exactly the same. The juices broke all three corn tortillas so the dish had to be eaten more like nachos with no chips. Price was reasonable, but wouldn't recommend.

Worst bread I've ever had for a sandwich. Hard and tough. Made my jaw hurt just eating it, definitely not worth the $8.00
