Crema's Take
“Volta brings a modern, welcoming energy to Nashville's coffee scene with thoughtfully crafted specialty drinks that go beyond the basics—think creative boosters and premium ingredients designed to make you feel as good as the coffee tastes. The space itself is clean and aesthetically sharp, perfect for lingering over a slow sit or meeting friends, and when the team (like barista Riley) is firing on all cylinders, the experience feels genuinely special. That said, consistency matters here—menu accuracy and allergy awareness could use some sharpening up, but the innovative spirit and quality-forward approach suggest this is a concept worth watching.”

Volta needs to better educate their staff on allergies & need to update their menu. First, the menu said the shots were only +$2 each and AFTER we were charged $6, we asked and were told the menu was wrong. The entire menu appeared to be wrong for prices. Is this not false advertising? Then, I asked for a dairy free drink. The lady apparently had worked there for several months & was not aware that coconut milk & oat milk were dairy free (she only knew the banana milk was). After I purchased my $12 protein matcha (omg menu said $8), I went back after realizing the protein probably wasn’t dairy free either. After asking several questions, we confirmed no it wasn’t. (I could have been VERY SICK if I hadn’t asked!). She had no idea what else could be added that was diary free so for $12 all I got was matcha with coconut milk & a slice of a cookie that had dairy in it too (gave to my husband since I clearly couldn’t eat it). She was nice & said sorry about it but this is really on Volta for not educating their employees after working there for months. At the least, the menu should have diary & gluten free markers on it - especially for these insane prices!! Only the cookie was labeled gluten free. It’s 2026 & celiac is a real protected disability!
I had such an incredible experience at Volta Cafe in Nashville. From the second I walked in, the vibe was super welcoming, the space was clean and modern, and you can tell they really care about quality and ingredients. The drinks are seriously next level — fresh, unique, and actually make you feel good after drinking them. You can tell everything is made with intention, not just thrown together. But honestly, what made this visit a 5/5 for me was Riley. She gave some of the best service I’ve ever had anywhere. She was friendly, patient while I decided, and knew the menu so well. She made recommendations that were perfect for what I wanted, checked in at the right times, and just made the whole experience feel personal and fun. You can tell she actually cares about customers and loves what she does, and that makes such a difference. I’ll 100% be coming back, and I’ll definitely be hoping Riley is working when I do. If you’re in Nashville and want amazing drinks, great vibes, and top-tier service, Volta is a must-visit.
Second time at Volta, and I love it! The drinks, staff, and aesthetics is a 10/10. Shout out to the barista, Riley. She went out of her way to make my experience special.
I was super excited to try Volta after seeing many posts online about them. To be honest, we were left pretty disappointed by the whole experience. Came on a Sunday, maybe 30 minutes after they opened and there was only 1 employee working who seemed swamped. I was the only person in line when I walked in and was never acknowledged by the employee and probably waited at least 8-10 minutes to order. I had planned my order (from the online menu) ahead of time to save some time, but was then told they don’t make those drinks anymore. Would be great if the online menu was updated to reflect the current offerings. I also was confused about the menu in store, the digital menu above the bar and the paper menus. I heard Volta was this caffeine bar, but was totally confused how the options worked. There is no details listed under each category of what base is used with the drinks, the caffeine strength, etc. For one drink, I was asked what strength of caffeine I wanted and that totally confused me. I was shocked after ordering 2 drinks and 1 food item, my total was nearly $40 without tip. Keep in mind, they also don’t accept cash. I waited around another 10 minutes for our drinks to be prepared, when another employee (possibly the owner) walked in. He made himself a drink, asked the other employee if she was alright, and then left shortly after. The chicken wrap I got was actually bomb and in my opinion was better than the drinks. I don’t believe the food is actually made there though. For the cost and the time I waited, we probably won’t be back.
Volta is a genuinely innovative concept that I hope to see grow to more locations. Ridiculously delicious drinks with premium ingredients / booster options that make you feel amazing and, well, hotter. It’s pricey but worth it!
