Espresso By Strive

Crema's Take

This artsy Providence spot excels at creative espresso drinks like their notably sweet cinnamon bun latte (which servers will happily adjust to taste) and fresh pastries, though you'll want to budget 20+ minutes for your order even during quiet times. The cool, creative atmosphere makes it a solid spot to linger, but consistency issues with execution—from overmilked lattes to missing sandwich components—suggest the kitchen struggles to match the espresso bar's ambitions.

Got a breakfast sandwich and a latte. Wait time 30min. Latte was a milk soup even though I asked to underfill milk. Sandwich missing bread. Didn't try. (See pic.) Disappointed because I used my break and money and didn't even end up eating. Seems understaffed. Pro tip: tell customers about increased wait times BEFORE they order.

Coffee is good but budget 20 minutes + after ordering to actually get your drink even if you're the only one in line. Very slow to deliver. Point of feedback would be to add major ingredient labels to the menu or educate staff to have answers to those questions.

Went here expecting to get a coffee and a bagel.. if you are familiar with that notoriously scummy real estate company Strive, this is that company and you’d think owning every other house on Admiral street they could afford to staff their cafe, but alas you will find yourself waiting 45 minutes for a bagel, and you can’t complain to the workers because they’re definitely having a much worse time behind that counter. Anyways: coffee is mid. Staff doesn’t label the orders, they put an unlabeled food box on the counter with all the other unlabeled boxes and expect you to figure it out with the other customers. Don’t make the mistake I did, if you need coffee just go down the street to La Salle Bakery

Espresso by Strive has a cool, artsy vibe. I tried the iced banana bread latte, which was tasty, and the chocolate chip muffin, which was fresh and delicious. The chocolate oatmeal cookie and apple turnover were okay, but nothing special. Atmosphere is cozy with limited seating, so maybe not ideal for large groups, but great for a quiet coffee break. Also, bonus points for the bathroom wallpaper with chalk-style sketches and quotes.

The cinnamon bun latte was incredibly incredibly sweet but the servers were really nice and toned it down to make it really delicious. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good on a croissant. Vibes are excellent will be back
