Crema's Take
“This woman-owned Petworth cafe strikes a welcoming balance between quick coffee stops and leisurely afternoons, with house-made pastries and syrups that elevate even simple orders. The sausage rolls and savory scones are standouts worth seeking out, and the genuinely friendly staff create an atmosphere where you'll feel known rather than rushed. While opinions on the food quality vary, the care invested in homemade touches and the vibrant community vibe make it a destination worth visiting.”

The food and coffees are good, not great. My biggest issue is the poor customer service. I really want to like this place and was happy to see the owner open this spot up after her business venture across the street closed down, but now I understand the common denominator. I've visited about 4-5 times and each time I'm ignored for several awkward minutes while the staff work as if there isn't a customer waiting. I understand the entire restaurant is the kitchen, but a simple "hello, we'll be with you in a moment" would be nice. Instead it feels like trying to order a cocktail at a trendy bar but you're not cool enough for the bartender to acknowledge you exist. For mid tasting food and coffee, the least they could do is be friendly to paying customers.
my first time! i guess it is my fault, i didn't know you had to specify focacia and pay extra. At $20 for a small sandwich, you think they would throw in chips and a pickle. i won't be back because I can put meat on bread at home for $2, but i'm glad other people like it. it was a good amount of meat. i put some olive oil on the arugula at home and i'd say it's a solid $10 sandwich.
VERY pleased with every life choice that led me to this point. Everything was absolutely delicious! So if you can’t make up your mind, rest assured that you will not choose wrong. Seating is all outside. There are only a few tables, so you may need to get your order to go during busier times. The inside of the shop is only space for one customer at a time to order. Food is delivered after ordering inside, and drink orders are delivered at the window outside. There isn’t a clear line situation outside, so you may need to ask the other folks waiting if they have ordered and where the line to order vs waiting for drinks is. P.S. The coffee is strong.
Everything about this place is fantastic. The food is such great quality, the staff is so friendly and personal with each and every customer. The coffee has a great flavor. It's the perfect go to for morning coffee and a breakfast sandwich! I got the Lynne sandwich. I'm usually not a huge fan of blue cheese but this sandwich has made me change my mind about it. Thank you all so very much for your wonderful hospitality. I will be visiting again soon!
This new Black and woman-owned cafe in Petworth is awesome! Super friendly staff, great vibes, and all the pastries and syrups are made in house. Don't miss the sausage roll or the savory scone.
