CoCo Playa

Crema's Take
“CoCo Playa brings a fun, casual energy to San Diego's coffee scene with their creative dirty soda lineup and colorful signature drinks that lean more toward playful indulgence than serious coffee craft. Their soft-centered cookies are genuinely beloved by regulars, though the flavored lattes tend to be hit-or-miss, and the pricing can feel steep for what you're getting. If you're looking for a sweet treat spot with personality and don't mind a slightly chaotic vibe, it's worth a visit—just manage expectations on the coffee quality and service consistency.”

My friends and I were really excited to still be able to get Coco playa during the Season of Lent as we could substitute everything with sugar free options. The girls at the window were rude as they read out our orders saying “Diet Dr. Pepper with sugar free whatever” and then whispering to each other. She shook her head as we drove away too. Definitely lost all our excitement because of that. We still loved our drinks just sad about the service.
I was excited to try this place, especially their dirty soda section. I was disappointed during this visit. We got Beach, Please and Pink Flamingo. They were just ok. The chocolate chip cookie was loaded with chocolate chip. They charged you for no ice. Also, the menu posted is outdated. The actual price was higher. Overall, my experience was just ok.
Cute place, but honestly I thought their flavored lattes were average and not anything special. The cookies look pretty and taste 6/10. Chewy and soft center is delicious, but the top and bottom is oddly a little hard and just not my favorite overall texture (flavors were good though). The area has a lot of homeless around it as well so I wouldn’t recommend walking there.
Love Coco playa, it’s the sweet treat that everyone needs. The drinks are not overly sweet if expensive like most things nowadays. The cookies are all solid, and haven’t had a bad one yet. Great treat for a great price, the girls are also always so kind to me.
Very average coffee and cookies. The cookies are a bit overpriced, and the cashier didn’t seem to know basic math. I bought 5 cookies and later realized that 6 cost the same - bummer they didn’t mention it. 5 cookies + a coffee was $34!!!! This was my first time trying coco playa. I don’t think I’ll be back.
