Twenty-Seventh Heaven Scratch Bake Shop

105 S Madison St, Spokane, WA

Crema's Take

Twenty-Seventh Heaven is a tiny bagel-focused bakery where the owner genuinely knows her regulars and isn't afraid to introduce you to French press coffee if you're open to it—their New York-style bagels and legendary crumb cake justify the quick stop, even if you're just grabbing from the counter. The "Bagel Bombs" and scratch-baked goods are clearly what draw the neighborhood back repeatedly, and there's a warmth here that comes from real hospitality rather than corporate charm.

These are hands down the best bagels in town. As close to a NY Bagel as you can get outside of the East Coast. And you'll feel like family when you walk into the building.

Great Breakfast Bagel Bomb this morning! Highly recommend stopping by for a bagel, cookie, or bread!

Their speciality, crumb cake, is the best coffee cake we've ever had! The bagel bombs are different and delicious. Owner takes the time to talk to customers, she let us know when different items are available, or how to order ahead. If you try this bakery, you'll be back.

I was staying at the hotel across the street and came in looking for drip coffee. She has French press, I’ve never had French press so I gave it a go! I couldn’t wait to come back the next morning for another! The owner is a mostly one woman show and her love for what she does shows! I had a lovely conversation with her learning about her and her business, I love to support small businesses! Learning that she is a veteran even doubles my desire to support more! I took home a slice of peanut butter coffee cake to enjoy with my coffee, I left none to even share with my mom! So delicious and unique! Next time I am in town, I will frequent her bakery! Highly recommend!

This is a very small bakery. While they do have a couple of bar stools, it’s really a pick up and leave kind of spot, not a place to hang around for a while. That said, the baked goods are incredible. This was across the street from my hotel so I went 2 days in a row. The coffee cake is a must order. The berry bagels were also incredible. Honestly I don’t think you can really go wrong. Beware they’re only open certain days of the week (W-Sat) so plan ahead, especially for a pick up order.
