Crema's Take

This Campbell bakery-café excels at sandwiches that locals rave about with genuine enthusiasm, pairing them with thoughtfully crafted pastries like their celebrated burnt almond cake that nails the balance of flavor without being cloying. The welcoming, family-friendly space works equally well for a quick coffee grab or a lingering meeting, with a team that's genuinely detail-oriented whether you're ordering a same-day pastry or placing a special cake order days in advance. It's the kind of neighborhood spot where quality ingredients and genuine care shine through, even if every single item doesn't hit the mark every time.

The mouse cake was okayish. Flavor was kinda too much. The lemon bar was good.

The burnt almond cake is beautiful and delicious. Not too sweet! I can’t wait to go again.

To say this was the best sandwich I've ever had would NOT be an overstatement. I've had both the chicken sandwich and the club and both are mind blowingly good. They use only the highest quality ingredients and do not skimp on the quantity. Usually a sandwich is a just a sandwich, but I'm telling you, these are AMAZING. Their soups are also absolutely wonderful. Made from scratch by the owner who's not only an amazing cook but a heck of a nice person. She obviously takes a lot of pride in her creations. I only come to San Jose once or twice a year, and I always INSIST on eating here.

We’ve found our new favorite bakery for birthday cakes, I preordered in person about 5 days in advance (we live walking distance so we just popped in to order) staff was very nice and detail oriented and pickup was easy breezy. The cake looked beautiful! It was perfect, not too sweet and very light and airy texture. I think what would make this cake stand out even more would be some sweet berries in the middle, like strawberries/blueberries for some extra flavor. Excited to try more of their cakes in the future.

Flower Flour has a few highlights, but unfortunately, my experience wasn’t as enjoyable as I had hoped. Croissant: The croissant was decent, but not the standout I expected. It had a good flaky texture but lacked the buttery richness that makes a croissant truly amazing. It was a bit on the dry side, and I was hoping for more depth in flavor. The sugar flour didn’t taste good at all. It felt overly sweet without balancing the flavors, and the texture wasn’t as light or airy as I expected. It didn’t quite live up to the standards I was hoping for, especially given the reputation. Service: The service was disappointing. The staff were rude, and I felt like my questions and requests were met with indifference. It was clear they didn’t prioritize customer service, which made the visit feel uncomfortable. Ambience: The ambience was decent. It was a nice space with a simple, cozy feel to it, though nothing about the environment stood out as exceptional. It made for an okay spot to enjoy a bite, but it didn’t have that special, inviting atmosphere I was hoping for. Overall, Flower Flour has room for improvement. The food wasn’t up to par, the service was lacking, and while the ambience was decent, it didn’t quite make up for the other shortcomings. Wouldn’t rush back unless there’s an improvement in these areas.
