Crema's Take

Lucky's Bakehouse Cafe is a beloved breakfast and brunch destination where the pastries are genuinely exceptional—their croissants rival the best in town and their lemon ricotta donuts are memorable enough to keep people coming back. The kitchen shines brightest with their fresh-ingredient breakfasts and pancakes that earn second orders, though the coffee takes a backseat and some dishes occasionally miss the mark. It's the kind of place that feels like your neighborhood spot, welcoming for solo laptop work or catching up with friends over a leisurely meal and impeccable baked goods.

Love Lucky's! Has absolutely wonderful brunch, though I am biased because breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Everything has super fresh ingredients. I absolutely love the lemon ricotta donut holes with raspberry powder. Such a unique and tasty treat! It is a little on the expensive side, typical for Boulder. Seating can be difficult to find. I always go alone and sit at the counter, just to have a seat!

This place has amazing pastries and cakes. Their Croissants are the best in town. I usually order birthday cakes and they always look beautiful. Coffee is not good but one can get an espresso across the street.

We’re regulars at Lucky’s and usually love it, but today was rough. Tried the shakshuka for the first time and I have no idea what I just ate — if this was supposed to be shakshuka, it missed the mark completely!

Luckys bakehouse Café is a great place to meet a friend for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The menu includes delicious egg dishes, vegetarian dishes and drinks that you might not find elsewhere. We sat outside on their patio, which is lovely because we were surrounded by vibrantly colored flowers and bright red umbrellas. The service is always efficient and personable. Their cinnamon rolls are out of this world! The food prices are reasonable, although the drinks are a bit pricey. It never seems to be too noisy and conversations are easily heard.

Hands down the best pancake I’ve ever had! It was so good I had to order a second one—moist, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The whole breakfast was absolutely delicious from start to finish. I’m so glad I came, and I’ll definitely be returning! I’m originally from Sarasota, FL where we used to have a Lucky’s Market before Kroger ran them into bankruptcy. So when I moved to Colorado, I was beyond happy to find out the original locations in Boulder and Fort Collins are still going strong. AND the one in Boulder has this cute restaurant! This visit brought back the best kind of memories, and the food truly exceeded all expectations. What a great experience!
