Crema's Take

The Power Plant Cafe wins hearts with its genuinely welcoming vibe and lush, green atmosphere that feels fresh and inviting—though fair warning, the kitchen moves at a leisurely pace that tests patience. You'll find solid traditional coffee drinks, light breakfast fare, and a staff that genuinely cares (regulars rave about baristas like Luka and Reagan), making it a sweet spot for studying or meeting friends despite the occasional slow service hiccup. The generous outdoor seating and proximity to live music next door make it an especially lovely stop if you're visiting Tallahassee on a nice day.

I want to love this place so badly. But time after time it lets me down. The food is good, but simple. The major issue with the cafe is the speed. The most complex item we’ve ever ordered here was an egg and cheese on a plain bagel and it took, without exaggeration, 40 minutes to get it. Not worth the wait. And there were no more than 3 orders ahead of us - all who ordered exceedingly simple items as well and also waited over 30 minutes. The setting is cute, and the menu appears to have many great options - but the whole appeal of a cafe is the pace of service and Power Plant doesn’t get it right. Three stars because the bagels are not bad when you receive them and the servers/baristas are pleasant.

Luka was awesome, if it wasn't for him we'd have left and it be 2stars max. Visiting out of state we stopped in for a late breakfast and drinks. House made caesar sounded good, except it isn't caesar just a vinaigrette no anchovies to emulsify and flavor. Next wrap down it is, especially since it specified it had pimenton (a specific type of Spanish paprika) turns out it was pimento (pickled peppers). Ok maybe some booze will help, a Paloma, yes please, except it was a vodka with grapefruit soda, you wouldn't put prime rib on a menu and serve grilled chicken because it's close enough. The instructions for the bar tell the staff to shake the cocktail with soda in the shaker, maybe get someone with at least a week bartending experience to redo the menu. And definitely stop just throwing buzz words around and be honest. Not major deal breakers but huge red flags of management/owners who are clueless or don't care. Luka was great, high energy, thoughtful service, and only reason this was a positive visit.

Visited today for the first time and was immediately impressed with the vibes. All the greenery gave the place a fresh look/feel. I ordered the Sausage, egg + cheese everything bagel sandwich. So good! The young lady behind the counter was very nice + even offered us free samples of their new overnight oats! Very nice place for aspiring content creators as it is verrry aesthetic. Will definitely be going back!

Was visiting from out of town and went for a walk. Found this cafe and loved the experience! It was a gorgeous day, there was plenty of outdoor seating, and the place next door had live music which was nice. My breakfast wrap and coffee were delicious and my husband enjoyed his smoothie
