Spoken Coffee is a labor of love from owner Ash that radiates genuine warmth and heart the moment you walk in—reviewers rave about her wonderful stories and the cozy, minimalist aesthetic that somehow feels full of energy and soul. The espresso-focused menu delivers bold, smooth lattes and creative specialty drinks that inspire customers to skip the photos and dive right in, while their thoughtful pastry selection (including banana bread and muffins) and croissants make it the perfect spot to linger with a friend or settle in for a meeting.

Spoken Coffee is such a breath of fresh air! I couldn't even wait to take photos of my coffee before diving in. The owner, Ash, was wonderful to talk with. Had great stories about her labor of love creating this gorgeous, warm atmosphere and thrifting to find homey decor to create such a welcoming vibe. I will absolutely be back to enjoy the music, the amazing coffee, very affordable prices, and the super comfy furniture. There is also plenty of space to plug in your phone or computer. I almost don't want people to find out about it because it's such an incredible find, but for Ash's sake (she is awesome!), I'll go ahead and put the word out there. This is my new favorite place in Boise for great coffee and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly, highly recommend!

My daughter and I had lunch at Pad Thai House today. I noticed that Spoken Coffee was finally open so I made sure we stopped in after we ate today. I was trying to kill two birds with one stone. Get my afternoon caffeinated beverage and check out this new local coffee joint. Walking in, this place is bright and inviting. I was instantly greeted by a beautiful smile and hello. I headed to the counter to check out the drink menu. I told the gal behind the counter I wanted to wait for my daughter to come in so we can order together. She was chill about it and let my daughter and I take our time. After we checked out the menu, I got myself my normal afternoon drink. An iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. My daughter got a peach and strawberry lotus energy drink. While our drinks were being prepared, I got to check out the venue. They have yummy looking baked goodies in the display case. A shelf filled with vintage coffee cans and plants. I adore the creativity they put into the shelf. The back wall is a stunning painting of a coffee plant. Whoever painted that wall did a fantastic job! My coffee looked dark and rich before I added my half and half. I knew that drink was going to be strong and flavorful! The espresso wasn't watered down at all. I added my half and half and a packet of sweetener. Taking one sip of my drink jolted me. You can taste the bitterness of the coffee. But it also had the right amount of sugar free vanilla in it as well. With the cream and sweetener, it was absolutely a great cup of coffee! I never caught the barista's name but she was super sweet. We talked about my transplant and my recovery from it. She was engaged and genuine. I appreciate that she was real and honestly involved in our conversation. It wasn't generic small talk. I wish this coffee joint is closer to me. Unfortunately they are on the other end of town. I would stop here every morning if I could. Everything about this shop is great. Plenty of seating, chill vibe, big windows for lighting and a dope barista behind the counter. If I'm ever in the other end of town, I most definitely will stop in top grab a drink.

I've learned a lot from Boise, especially not to judge a book by its cover. The places that look the most spare tend to be filled with the most heart, vibe, energy, aura. I found that to be the case especially at 11-day new Spoken Coffee, opened in a growing part of West Boise. It was my birthday weekend and I had a bunch of bucket-list items to check off. The second to last was Spoken Coffee. I saw it mentioned on Instagram and felt its innate charm and earnest good feeling. A lot of times, what you see is not what you get. But here, in this fresh, new space, it's everything and more. There may not be much to the coffee shop at the end of a mini-shopping plaza, next to a yoga place, but the ladies behind the counter somehow seem to fill it up with love enough for 42 stadiums. You feel it when you walk in and hear the quiet conversations of friends coloring and plotting, the tick-tick-ticking thought balloons of a student hard at work on her laptop, the couple fresh from a hiking excursion staring at the short menu, debating over a drip or one of owner Ash's fabulous lattes. You really feel it when you talk to the staff, who warmly greet each and every customer, and look around at the little bibs and bobs of a long forgotten, much maligned, and ultimately beloved century: the disco ball, the mid-century shelving of offbeat trinkets recalling cool parents/grandparents sitting around the stereo phonograph, grooving to Joni, Seals & Crofts, and Rush, the rush of sky-green in the walls belying the suburban landmark... Ash gives off a cool, Kate McKinnon vibe, btw, as she expertly crafts some of the deepest chai and matcha latte by hand. It's her baby, born from a dream two years ago to recreate the happiness she found in a small neighborhood market growing up in North Boise. I remember a WA transplant (I am one, too) complaining on social media that there weren't any decent coffee shops in Boise; that they all served watered-down or overly sugary drinks to make up for some inner lack. I don't know what she's talking about. I have found great coffee shops in Boise, some better than the best in Seattle — and served without the gentrified, stolen-grunge-valor attitude I hated so much there. I'm excited to see what Ash cooks up and how Spoken Coffee will grow. She won herself a faithful fan. Every time my husband and I drive up from Twin Falls, we're stopping here for our caffeine and happiness hit.

I have been dreaming of a cozy coffee shop within walking distance and Spoken Coffee is a dream come true. The staff is so friendly and kind. My coffee and croissant were delicious. The vibes are everything you want - cute, cozy, inviting, relaxed. It's the cutest neighborhood coffee shop - a little pocket of happiness. If they are already this great on opening day I can only imagine how it will only get better. I plan on being a regular here!
