City Market Coffee House
305 Main St, Kansas City, MO
Crema's Take
“This City Market gem has earned its stellar reputation as the go-to spot for both quick coffee runs and leisurely mornings, with locals returning weekly for their exceptional espresso and pour-overs alongside genuinely craveable breakfast fare like the famous breakfast pile and breakfast club sandwich. The warm, welcoming staff (Matt gets special mention!) keeps the energy genuine even during the inevitable weekend rushes, while their fresh pastries and full breakfast menu make it equally perfect for a solo chai contemplation or a family gathering. Whether you're grabbing a vanilla bean scone to go or settling in for an unhurried sit with perfectly executed coffee, there's a reason nearly 1,100 reviewers can't stop talking about this place.”

My husband and I stopped in for drinks recently. I got a hot chai and it was pretty good. I wish it had had a little more depth of flavor, but it was wonderfully hot. It looks like they expanded into the neighboring shop, and there’s a beautiful mural on the wall. It wasn’t busy when we went, but I have seen this place packed to the rafters, especially on the weekends during the farmer’s market.
We come in here at least once a week. Awesome coffee, incredible food (recommend the breakfast pile and The breakfast club sandwich 🥪)! Staff is great, particularly Matt!
Long lines since it's the only coffee shop in city market. I tried their Gigi Splash which is already bottled juice (not sure if cold pressed) made of pineapple, red apple, pear, strawberry, orange and lemon. Tastes okay but wish it truly was fresh pressed especially for the $9 price tag.
My mom and I are making a cross country trip and ended up finding this place from other reviews. The coffee, chai tea, a breakfast burrito, and BLT w/egg were so amazing. It all tasted so fresh and homemade, was truly some of the best breakfast I’ve had. We met Matt, who is just so kind and amazing; he even walked out to point us in the direction of the river for a nice view to eat. The actual cafe itself is so neat and designed so uniquely. I would recommend this spot to anyone for great food and atmosphere!
Loved this coffee shop. Employees are very nice and welcoming. The coffee was amazing. Does get pretty packed on the weekends but they are fast. The best vanilla bean scone!! -love, a Texas girl
