Cafe Zata

Crema's Take
“Cafe Zata feels like the neighborhood gathering spot where you can linger over coffee and one of their quality sandwiches on incredible marbled rye, or grab a quick espresso drink on your way out. The vibe is genuinely comfortable and lived-in—laptop-friendly but never feeling sterile—with a rotating cast of regulars who come back for the homemade pastries, fresh chips, and surprisingly solid food that goes well beyond typical cafe fare. It's the kind of place people actually miss when they move away, which says everything about how well they've balanced being both a proper coffee destination and a real gathering spot.”

Great place to stop in, grab a to-go beverage or to sit back and eat one of their baked goods or a sandwich. The special the day I went was an Italian sub which was delicious and loaded with meats. Place was pretty clean and the staff behind the counter was really nice and offered to grab whatever you needed.
First visit. Slim, but good draft beer offerings. Turkey/pastrami sandwich was good and served on the best marbled rye bread ever. Side chips were excellent. Atmosphere was comfy, but exposure to traffic and associated lights and movement through large window was distracting. Perhaps just not used to going to an establishment in this urban area. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'm sure I'll be back.
Cafe Zata is a Manchester staple. It has just about everything you want in a coffee shop: food, decent coffee, plenty of seating, and good ambience. The review was almost perfect, but they had a couple areas for improvement. Their food could be improved- their burger was quite plain and their breakfast burrito was very greasy and fell apart in my hands. Also their wifi quality was terrible- nothing loaded for both me and my friends. We ended up using Hotspot instead.
Tried this place for the first time today after hearing about it and was completely disappointed. My breakfast bowl was like almost $13 and it came out with cheese harden and stuck to the bottom. The potatoes were hard as rocks, And it was practically inedible I had to pick at my food like a bird to even try to be able to eat anything and the only thing that wasn’t screwed up were are the eggs, definitely not worth the money save your money and go elsewhere
I miss living in Southside mostly because of being a bike ride away from Cafe Zata. Great place, my favorite order is a James River on sourdough with provolone (the fresh, homemade chips are amazing) with an iced chai latte. Woe is me, for now I live 20 minutes away (which honestly I try to not let stop me). Miss all the workers too, you all are amazing! They always brighten my day when I go.
