Seven Stars Bakery
820 Hope St, Providence, RI
Crema's Take
“This beloved Providence institution has evolved from its quirky gas station origins into a proper neighborhood gathering spot, where the real draw is their exceptional house-made pastries—regulars rave endlessly about the lemon cake and pecan sticky buns. While the personal touch of earlier years has shifted with growth, the quality of their baked goods and carefully executed drinks like Earl Grey tea and matcha lattes remains consistently excellent. Whether you're grabbing a quick pastry to go or settling in for a slow morning with friends, Seven Stars strikes that sweet spot between casual bakery convenience and a place worth lingering.”

Have been going to Seven Stars for years ( early gas station conversion days ). Less now as I have moved away a few miles. The personal touch is gone now...and it could go the starbucks way. If you want to know what is wrong with the economy and why it does not work for normal folks... $4.50 for a slice of toast....enough said...
Today I had a pleasure of trying their Earl grey tea, and their lemon cake. Everything was so delicious. I love this bakery and I will be coming back. Thank you 🙏❤️
It’s been years since I got a pecan sticky bun and it’s a bummer how much they shrunk. $7 w/ tax is the price now. That said, the quality and taste of it is fantastic and what I remember, but not worth the high price. For texture, it wasn’t buttery and airy. It was on the dry side and I ate it pretty early in the morning so it wasn’t sitting out long. Every item there looked delicious but also expensive. Money isn’t an issue for me as I have a very good paying job, but I’m still smart with what I spend. Without blinking, you can spend $20 on 3 pastries. I probably won’t go back.
Dropped in for a quick to go order and got a matcha latte and cheese danish. When I got home I was surprised it was a plain cheese danish since when I ordered the cheese danish sign was in front of some with fruit in the center so I was a little disappointed. Other than that the matcha was tasty as was the danish, just not what I thought I had ordered.
I’ve never dined in here, but have dropped in many times to order baked goods. Their lemon cakes are to die for! In fact, their bread and pastries tend to be so delicious, I never end up with any pictures of them. When you order loaves from them they can slice them for you right in the back. They’re quite a good price and always delicious. The coffees and iced teas are also great. Parking tends to be quite busy, since there’s about 6 spots in front.
