Coffee Connection - Providence
32 Custom House St, Providence, RI
Crema's Take
“This downtown Providence favorite has earned its loyal following with consistently excellent coffee and made-to-order bagels, backed by genuinely warm and lively staff who take time to guide you through the menu. It's a versatile spot that welcomes both quick caffeine runs and longer stays over wifi, though parking can be a squeeze and kitchen hours occasionally catch people off guard. The baristas clearly care about their craft, though you might occasionally notice slight variations in drinks as they dial things in.”

Coffee connection is my go to spot in downtown providence for coffee and bagels. I’ve been coming here for years and I’m never disappointed. The staff are always friendly and lively, especially to the regulars. Fradie made my coffee today and gave excellent service (as usual).
I usually love coffee connection but this location was different. I came in at 1:30 for a coffee and a bagel and the staff told me they had already closed the kitchen, but they close at 3:00 so for them to close the kitchen an hour and a half early on a weekend seems a little ridiculous to me, especially just because all I asked for was a bagel with cream cheese. I was very disappointed at this location, but the other locations have never disappointed!
Cute little place with tasty coffee! The baristas are all typically very nice and helpful with explaining different menu options. Sometimes the lattes can be a little inconsistent with how light they are, or how much sweetener is in them, but the espresso itself is always really tasty and bold. They don't have many tables inside, so it might not be the best place for a large group, but I usually stop in around noon and there are always a couple of tables available. My absolute favorite thing is that they don't charge extra for ordering drinks with light ice. The baristas always add just enough ice to keep the drink cold, but it's always full to the top with coffee. Their sandwiches are tasty too and reasonably priced for a cafe in Providence. The only menu item I've ordered that I didn't care for was the avocado toast. The avocado didn't have much salt and there was way too much olive oil, and it was a bit overpriced (around $8) for the size of the slice. However their bagels are delicious. The jalapeno cheddar is worth the extra few cents. My favorite cafe to visit while I'm waiting for the bus to work :)
Love coming to this location, the Coffee is delicious and the food is made to order. All the staff are very nice and they have online ordering through an app called Toast. The only issue is parking… But if you can walk to this location, please do it!
The atmosphere was decent but the service was really slow for it being a couple people. The food was decent as well, just wish it was done with someone who had more experience. I won’t be going to this Coffee Connection again.
