Several small plates were shared and enjoyed: mushroom bread, meatball with middle eastern spices, Caesar with the fish. Good wine tasted, a bottle selected, and happily finished. This place is why I like to eat. Kudos to the chef and hostess Sidney.
Had an absolutely incredible meal here Jan 30. The Caesar salad grabbed me with the tang and freshness. The sardine plate has the perfect balance of flavors and level of spice. The crab cake (even to this Maryland gal) was phenomenal. Love the patio area, nice and relaxing. Will be coming back!
I never write reviews, but Patula is hands-down my favorite restaurant in NOLA. And coming from NYC, my friends and I have high expectations for dining when we travel. We were lucky to snag a res in the Summer Room for a multi-course meal with exceptional drinks, service, and ambiance. We knew we were going to have a 5-star dining experience when sat down with fresh Petite De Sel Oysters, a gorgeous Caesar, a fantastic wine selection, and crisp martinis. Followed by a spectacular Tuna Crudo with green tomato and Kashmiri chill, and a few plates of Shiitake Mushroom Dumplings. Both dishes, seemingly familiar, tasted brand new from the bold sauces & seasoning combinations. Delicious. Then came the most subtle WOW of the night: the Pumpkin Gouda Polenta. I'm not a polenta guy, but flavors of the gouda + pumpkin & resulting texture put this dish on top for me. The larger plates we loved were the Jumbo Shrimp (pimenton & garlic heaven), a perfect Ribeye topped with beef fat Chimichurri, and a gorgeous Stuffed Eggplant. End with the Basque cheesecake, you won't regret it (even if you feel as stuffed as we did by dessert). Shoutout to the Patula team for an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to return when I return to New Orleans.
Really fun place with creative and yummy food. Love the changing menu and the small plates. I think the place mostly does outside seating with a little bit of indoor seating. We came with a group of 6 on a cold day. The servers were super nice and seated us inside. We tried a lot of small dishes and the quail which was a bigger main. The mushroom toast was my favorite. We got the cocktails and those were pretty good too. Would recommend if you're feeling like a tapas style meal.
Wow! What a fascinating place. The food is extremely complex and the wines pair perfectly. The flavors are 4 dimensional and pair exceptionally with the wines on their list. What a gem! If you’re looking for something just totally different than anything you’ve ever had in all the best ways. Try this
