Crema's Take
“Tucked into Hood River, Ground Espresso Bar & Cafe is a spirited spot where skilled hands craft both traditional espresso drinks and creative seasonal specials like their "over the mountain mocha" alongside an unexpectedly impressive pastry program featuring killer whole wheat scones and fresh-from-the-oven croissants. The team clearly knows their craft—whether you're after a decaf lemon loaf latte, a legendary chai that keeps regulars coming back weekly, or a matcha that actually tastes exceptional—and the welcoming vibe makes it the kind of place you'll want to visit every morning of your stay.”

This is my favorite place to stop for coffee and food when I come through Hood River. I was there a few weeks ago and had a tasty breakfast sandwich and an excellent decaf lemon loaf latte. The people were nice and seemed happy to be there.
This is my fav coffee shop in town, they have an amazing menu full of options for brekkie and lunch. Their chai latte is to die for, I drink too many of them on the weekly. I love getting the bagel sandwich and adding sausage! They have had a couple dairy free dessert items, last week was a chocolate raspberry cupcake/muffin 🔥😋 you can def make items vegan if needed! Dogs are not allowed inside but there are tables out front and on the side to enjoy the food and bevvys with your pup.
So wonderful to find a shop that knows how to make a great matcha!! They had tasty vegan options for food as well and everyone was super friendly. Had to go every morning of my stay in Hood River!
Popped in to try their coffee! I got their winter themed drink “over the mountain mocha” which was yummy! Yummy whip too. The staff was working very hard & fast, shout out to them! It was quite busy but they were amazing! The inside is so cozy, great place to sit down. Next time I’ll try their soups or sandwiches.
It's surprising that they don't position themselves more as an amazing bakery because they have some killer whole wheat orange cranberry and maple bacon scones, Nutella croissants and hot-out-of-the-oven coconut chocolate chip cookies. And of course a few gluten-free options. My fancy English breakfast tea was served in a proper ceramic pot with a generous portion of milk on the side, just the way I like it. The avocado toast with thin tomato slices, feta and a sprinkle of lemon & pepper is scrumptious! Staff are very friendly and helpful. One negative for me - I was dying for fresh baked goods with walnuts or pecans and there were none. I think all the allergies to peanuts have made bakeries gun shy of all nuts😔.
