Studio Cafe
774 Wave St Suite B, Monterey, CA
Crema's Take
“Tucked down a hidden courtyard staircase off Wave Street, Studio Cafe is a charming hybrid coffee shop and music studio where locally roasted espresso and thoughtfully crafted teas share space with genuine hospitality and an interesting story. The brick-and-greenery courtyard setting feels like a secret escape from the Cannery Row crowds, making it an ideal spot for meeting friends or settling in with a pastry and quality drink at a fraction of tourist-area prices. Owners who are genuinely passionate about both their coffee program and their business's creative roots make this small spot feel less like a café and more like a community gathering place.”

We stopped in around noon as a much more affordable alternative to grabbing coffee inside the aquarium. A quick tip for anyone visiting: make sure to go straight to the lower level! I followed the map directions up the street to the higher level and wasted some time, so learn from my mistake. Once there, everything was great. We ordered a lavender iced coffee and an iced tea, and both were solid with no complaints at all. They also have a bunch of fun tabletop games available, which was a perfect way to relax and pass the time. I would definitely stop by again!
Studio Cafe is such a sweet little coffee shop! It is down the steps that opens into a courtyard with brick and walls covered in greenery. The tea here was delicious and there was so much care taken in all the details despite the open, minimalist feeling. The long curved bench outside is heated and there is ample seating outdoors. Enjoy!
What an interesting story behind this coffee shop and music studio. Coffee excellent. Owners very nice and accommodating giving a tour and story about the genesis of their business. Warmed large concrete bench outside stands out in terms of comfort while weather is cool when you still want to enjoy coffee outdoors.
Studio Cafe is a special little treat tucked into a cute courtyard off the back, lower side of Wave Street. As a gluten free, highly discerning coffee drinker, we found this this place to be amazing! We lucked out and got the chocolate cherry muffins which were fresh from the oven! Sooo good that we bought two more to take home. The pour over coffee was rich, dark and super smooth made from freshly ground beans. Mmmmmm good! Perfect way to spend a morning!!
Good coffee, locally roasted and a variety of teas. A cozy place along the bike pedestrian trail, away from the busy street of cannery row. I wish they have more than just coffee and teas. It would be great if they have good muffins, paninis or sandwiches. Slow drip coffees are great but if you like it very hot, by the time you get it, it's not that hot anymore.
