Crema's Take

Summit Coffee Eastover earned its reputation as an espresso-focused destination through thoughtfully crafted drinks like their cortado, which regulars praise for striking that perfect balance of milk and espresso that reveals real skill behind the bar. The space itself is a study in intentional coziness—a large room broken into intimate nooks with carefully chosen light fixtures that make it feel like a series of tucked-away retreats rather than an open expanse, perfect for settling in with a laptop or meeting a friend. There's genuine warmth here, from early-morning opening hours to seasonal specials and genuinely welcoming staff, making it feel less like a trendy coffee shop and more like a place that actually gets what specialty coffee community is about.

I was early for an appointment nearby and definitely ready for my second cup of coffee. I pulled into Summit Coffee at 7:30am and was relieved to see the lights on and the doors open. It always feels like a small victory when a local shop is open early enough that I can skip the Green Siren people and enjoy something with a bit more character. A friendly barista took my order and made a perfect cortado in a proper mug. The milk art was tidy and appealing, the cup itself had a bit of charm, and the coffee was rich, balanced, and exactly what I needed to settle into the morning. I spent about an hour at a corner table, watching the place gradually fill with people meeting, chatting, and easing into their day. Only a handful of us had laptops, which made for an interesting mix of energy in the room. Or at least, interesting to me as I chipped away at a bit of work. The parking lot is far too small for the number of people who clearly love this place, so cars spilled out along the street. Even so, it was a pleasant and productive stop, and a good way to bridge the time before my appointment.

I ordered a cortado at Summit Coffee, and it turned out to be one of the best ways to gauge their espresso craft. Served in a small glass with just the right balance of milk and espresso, it arrived beautifully presented — a silky layer of microfoam with a hint of latte art.

It is a very cozy place! Plenty of places to sit. Just what you would expect in a coffee shop. Good coffee!

This coffee shop is lovely. The light fixtures and the cozy tucked away spaces made a big room smaller. The people there were so welcoming and friendly. The new seasonal drinks were delicious as well as the new seasonal scones.

I truly love the Charlotte coffee scene. I now have been to over12 coffee shops all were very chic and modern. This place did not disappoint. I got the Salted Caramel Espresso Latte with almond milk which was delicious. This is local chain in Charlotte. I think they have about 6 locations. The prices are average for the area. Definitely will be back.
