Coffee connoisseur approved! Oh I’m not the connoisseur even though that coffee class I took in 2024 makes me feel like one 🤷🏽♀️. I had the pleasure of trying El Porton Coffee for my friend’s birthday. This “Coffee Hang” was the perfect way to celebrate our friend and have the rest of the day since we were done by 11. It was my first time going to El Porton. Walking in I immediately loved the decor. Plus, there was live music. I was already impressed. We went up to the counter and saw the lovely baked goods. They had a selection of savory and sweet treats. My wife and I went with the mushroom and goat cheese quiche. The crust was so buttery and flaky. The goat cheese and mushroom was the right balance. To drink, I went with a seasonal latte that I can’t remember the name of but it had some caramel and vanilla with almond milk. I really like it was just the right level of sweetness. Very delicious! Overall the group had so much fun and the birthday was very happy she got to share her fave coffee shop with us. She even treated us to the Salvadoran quesadillas. It was my first time having one. It tasted like a sweet corn muffin with cheese. So good! There were about 8-10 of us for this gathering. So much joy at the table. It was a good time. I’m sure we made it a bit loud that Saturday morning. I’ll be back again soon!
This place is sooo cute, and the service was amazing. 10/10. I tried the iced cajeta matcha and it was so good. My friends got the mango hibiscus and loved it too. There’s a good amount of seating if you’re looking for a spot to get some work done, and it wasn’t noisy, which made it easy to focus. Highly recommend! They have a book area where you can take a book to read as long as you replace it with a different book. I believe I also saw some games to play (chess) but don’t quote me on that.(:
I met up with a co-worker here for coffee recently. It's a quaint little shop on the corner in a strip mall on the northeast corner of Garland Rd and Buckner. It has a lot of character, obvious from the moment you walk in. The colors, the plants, the openness of it - it makes you feel like you're at your neighbor's house for coffee! I love the living room look, with mismatched seating, along with a small area for the little ones to keep occupied. I tried a muffin, which was very good. Smaller than other shops. Later I purchased a raspberry danish to take home, which wasn't near as good as it looked, but not bad. The staff member behind the counter offered to heat it up for me. My latte was fair, I'd probably just stick to regular coffee next time. It's a nice place and I will return, go try it for yourself!
First time here and loved the coffee shop! The customer service is amazing and thanks to them for this cold brew option. They make house made syrups which really adds a delicious flavor.
Chic, Cozy, and Full of Local Charm – A Hidden Gem in Casa Linda! I recently stopped by El Porton Coffee in Dallas off Garland Road, and I’m so glad I did! The vibe here is chic, cozy, and welcoming, with local artwork displayed throughout the shop (and even available for purchase!). There are plenty of comfortable seating areas, and I loved that they even have a playroom in the back for kids—such a thoughtful touch for families. I ordered the quiche Lorraine, which was a personal-sized portion and absolutely delicious. The flaky, crispy crust and rich filling were perfect. I also tried to order the seasonal Coconut Tres Leches iced coffee, which they no longer had, but the barista created a custom drink inspired by it—and it was so good! Great flavor and beautifully presented. There’s plenty of parking, friendly service, and even a few outdoor tables if you prefer to sip your coffee in a patio setting. If you’re in the Casa Linda / East Dallas area and looking for a peaceful, artsy coffee shop to work, relax, or catch up with a friend, El Porton Coffee is a must-visit.
