I stayed here for my nieces wedding. From the moment of our arrival until we left it was nothing but a headache. The heating the cabin did not work, the fireplace had a gas leak and the property manager wouldn’t do a thing. There was not even a carbon monoxide alarm in the cabin so it was lucky that the gas leak was discovered during the day when we were awake otherwise it could have killed my family. The property manager yelled at the wedding party and accused us of stealing her flashlight. Would advise staying far away from this place. They couldn’t even ensure that the set up for the wedding was done right and was showing the venue while we were having the wedding. So unprofessional and they only take your money without providing the service you are paying for.
After almost a month of trying to get ahold of this venue, they have never, not once, answered a phone call of mine. It goes to voicemail every time, no matter if it’s a weekend or weekday, morning or afternoon. So that was the first red flag. We played phone tag for weeks before we finally were able to schedule a tour of their wedding venue over a string of voicemails. But, Amber was pleasant and kind over voicemail so it was fine! Then, a day before our tour, they called to reschedule because they had a ceremony already booked that day (not sure why they scheduled our tour then). So, we rescheduled to earlier in the day to not interfere with the ceremony. THEN, a different woman named Kelly texted me, told me they were not going to let us tour the venue. She had sent me one text previous to this one I am attaching. Again, I never spoke on the phone with her. We had sent one text back and forth previously that was polite and civil! She was nasty and aggressive for no reason, as things had never got heated. I only tried to clarify that we could not come, because we would need to cancel our trip. I do not recommend doing business with this company, as you do not want to deal with people like Kelly on the most important day of your life. It is really disappointing because we adored this venue online m and booked a trip to Sedona to see it, and they cancelled the day before. I truly consider myself a polite and agreeable person, I have never in my life been spoken to like this. Incredibly disappointed.
I do t have high hopes for places. And always try and make yhe best of the experience. BUT this place lacks so much our cabin was freezing cold the heaters didnt work except in one room had to turn on the oven and leave it open for the kitchen and tiny leaving room to warm up. Bathroom freezing. The cabin rooms were cute I wish they just had more room in the livingroom it was tiny one couch and no room. Couldn't call anyone to let them know the heater wasn't working there is no cell service and coffee shop closes at 5pm so after that your S.O.L but like I said we made the best of it but nights wete very cold. Someone else me timed they should have better lighting outside and I agree. The common areas can use updating. This place needs some re.odeling for sure and a better management system.
The room I reserved was completely disheveled, but I let that go and accepted their apology and replacement reservation. But now this company won’t return my $200 deposit. I’ve called for weeks and they have told me they would get back to me. A girl when I called told me they have too many events to address the issue. Do they realize this is breaking the law? They’re too busy to address the fact that what they’re doing is illegal? I agreed to wait until after their busy weekend and called later the next week, but still didn’t get any responses. There is one gentleman that I’ve spoke to a few times and he does have good service etiquette but I’m still not getting my deposit even though he said there were no notes indicating a reason to withhold my money. I didn’t want to contact the BBB or the Consumer Protection Agency but they are leaving me zero choice. If you want to have your money stolen and cheated from you, this is your place. If you want to walk into a room that is made up like a pig pen, you got it. I really tried to avoid having to take it to these levels but they don’t seem to GAF that they violated my purchase agreement and can’t be bothered to try to fix it.
Local photographer here in Sedona - This place is so special! Everything about Don Hoel's Cabin is magical! The area is stunning with beautiful cabins nestled in the woods of the canyon. It's one of the best places to have your wedding ceremony in Sedona, AZ! And shout out to Sean for coordinating amazing events in this place!
