Black Diesel Coffee
1423 E Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI
Crema's Take
“Black Diesel has built a loyal following in Ann Arbor as a serious espresso destination where baristas genuinely care about craft—reviewers rave about standout drinks like their coconut lattes and creative seasonal offerings that justify the premium pricing. The shop strikes that rare balance of being both a productivity hub with solid wifi and ample outlets for laptop warriors and a welcoming gathering spot where friendly staff make you feel known, though it's worth noting portions can occasionally run light on volume.”

It was good. Really good actually. I heard it was amazing. Not quite there but staff are friendly and service is very quick and good. Way better than Starbucks for the same price so I say go here. Very enjoyable but not my top pick.
Rip off. Went in this morning for 2 lattes and paid 18 bucks. I noticed they felt pretty light and when I get to my car and take the lid off I see this….Not even filled up. Can’t imagine what a cappuccino looks like seeing the amount of foam they put on a lattes. Complete rip off.
Best coconut latte and Dubai chocolate croissant. The coffee is wonderfully, you can taste the quality and care.
Great coffee shop for working. Strong Wifi ("Black Diesel Guest Network", no password), lots of tables good for parties of 1-2, and lots of outlets for you to plug in available next to almost every table. Service was a bit slow, but everyone was very kind, and I wasn't in a rush, so I didn't mind. 2 gender neutral bathrooms were also available to customers, as well as a free parking lot with many available spaces. Outdoor seating was also available, but with it being a rainy October morning at the time I'm writing this review, I didn't partake in it. I thought their community wall and their books, blankets, and board games for the community were also a thoughtful touch.
I recently visited Black Diesel Coffee and had a great experience. I ordered a chai tea latte, and my husband got a cappuccino. The barista was super nice and welcoming, which set a positive tone right from the start. The place was quite busy, which is always a good sign that you’re in a quality coffee shop. The shop has a variety of seating options, including tables and barstools, making it a versatile spot whether you’re coming alone or with a group. It’s also a great place to study or do some work, with a comfortable atmosphere that’s conducive to productivity. They offer some food items as well, which adds to the overall convenience. As for the drinks, the chai tea latte was perfect—just the right balance of spices and milk—and my husband really enjoyed his cappuccino too. Overall, Black Diesel Coffee is a nice place with good vibes and excellent coffee. I’d definitely recommend it and will likely return.
